Just off the highway entrance into downtown. Open Air with sun shades and nice misters to keep cool. Order at the counter and then they bring the food to you. Pets allowed. Food was good. Small quantity. The nachos were a little bit difficult to pick up and eat b

A great family friendly setup with 20+ beers on tap and delicious food to accompany it. With a fenced off area for families and outside games for the kids plus kids sized benches, it made for a fun lunch!

One of the first breweries I've seen to offer a Shrimp PO' Boy, so we had to get that! Fantastic! ?

Wife and I were in Paso Robles for the evening with our dog and wanted somewhere to take her. We walked the main areas, and saw The Backyard.
I really liked the vibe of the "back" of the place, supre cozy yet open, other patrons were fun when I was chatting and in line.

Staff was super welcoming to all 3 of us, and service was great. We got the pup pad for my pooch, and even that was cooked to "just right".
A great selection of foods, beers, and wines.

Next time I have to go down to Paso Robles this will be a definite stop.

Great ambiance! Casual, fun. Perfect place to meet up- large group or small. All kinds of seating choices, heaters, sun, shade, fire-pits, living room groupings on sofas or picnic tables.

Amazing beer and wine selection, reasonable prices.

Roots on Railroad has delicious food- something to please almost everyone. We loved the generous smash burger and wonderfully crispy shoestring fries.

Food was meh at best. The pulled pork sandwich was tough and ok on flavor. There was a big slice of ham/bacon on the back by the hot dog bun. The pretzel was ok but nothing special. The chips were the best part. The beer was good, but you can get that anywhere. Nice setting but too many yelling kids running around and there were flies swarming over all the tables. Honestly, There are better options in Paso...

We reserved a private area at The Backyard for our welcome event the Friday before our wedding and it was the perfect venue! We especially loved the fire pits and different areas for our guests to mingle. There were lots of food and drinks options to choose from. I would highly recommend this place for an event but it is also great to just stop by and have a beer! Very dog friendly too!

Very chill vibes, easy to be spaced out and required masks when not sitting at your table, so we felt safe here. The food was amazing and they have a fair amount of options for drinks. The Ahi Poke Burrito with Flaming Hot Cheetos is just as crazy as you’d imagine, but rest assured, it tastes AMAZING! It’s huge, so you might have leftovers, but the meal is worth it. Get it with some fries and you’ll be good to go!
