The Esplanade Bluff Garden is full of mature native California plants. It’s a great opportunity to see plants in their natural environment. There is giant wildrye, Cleveland sage, Menzies golden bush, seaside Daisy, California brittlebush, creeping sage, yarrow, lemonade berry, and a lot of hairy gum weed. There are many more native California plants and it changes seasonally. There is a plaque in front of the garden with pictures describing some of the plants. The garden is located along the Esplanade walking path, so it is interesting to see the different blooms change throughout the seasons. There are a group of volunteers that take care of the garden, so there are very little weeds. If you’re interested in native plants, this is a great opportunity to see a variety of plants in a small garden.

Always treat to come down here. Walk along the bluffs and watch the sunset. What's very entertaining is the people that you see and meet. It's a regular zoo and I'm not talking about the dogs they walk.

A beautiful day, the sun shining, no wind, clear sky; couldn't ask for more. We love getting our meal at El Burrito Jr & driving to the Esplanade to eat on the wall & watch the animals & people enjoying their evening. Beautiful & peaceful!

Spectacular very beautiful we have been going for many years it’s truly one of the nicest places on the coast for how small it is it’s busy for how busy it is it’s friendly dogs welcome children plenty of surfing good place for downtime it is quite busy but on the other hand it’s kind of quiet and peaceful!
