The soil itself is fine. Customer service however was terrible.
I called on a thursday(2/10), originally, to have a delivery on a Saturday (2/12). Was told they would call me to pay on Saturday before the delivery because she couldnt take the payment then.(Weird but I confirmed with her I didn't need to then and she said to wait till Saturday). I also had her email me the quote.
Saturday comes along and I call to confirm my delivery and pay since I didn't get a call first thing. Another lady tells me I don't have a delivery and was only marked as a quote. She told me she would call me back in a few minutes when she talked to her co worker. Hours went by without a call so I call them back. She proceeded to tell me I was lying about the interaction entierly that happened the previous day and then told me if I didn't like the way they did buisness to go somewhere else. Which in its own is unprofessional. Of all things, why would I lie about having dirt delivered. I wouldn't have called to confirm the delivery and make sure it got paid if I hadn't expected one to be delivered.
She told me they always take payment right away. I just wish the first lady I talked to was informed of this policy. 2nd lady proceeded to talk to this employee while I was on the phone saying "I don't know what she is talking about." "Yeah, I don't think she knows what she's talking about" Etc.
I didn't have the time to order from a different place so I asked to just schedule a delivery for their earliest time, which was Monday(2/14). To which her initial response was I can schedule the delivery but can't take the payment.... what? No. I was not getting off the phone this time without paying. So I waited and finally she was able to take my card. I called Monday to confirm the soil I was having delivered was infact being delivered and was met with a snarky response but It was scheduled and delivered later that morning (2/14).
Overall delivery was fine, soil looks good and the delivery driver was friendly but based on customer service alone for the two ladies I talked to, to order, I would not recommend this company. As the 2nd lady said "You can just go somewhere else."
I have since ordered from Stoney's Sand & Gravel, LLC in Lemoore and they have excellect customer service, quality products and pricing is around the same as Valley Soil. (Cheaper next day delivery too, but that could be that they are closer to me)
