First off let me say this. My 85 year old dad who recently had a stroke has been a loyal customer for 20+ years. And has only missed 1 month of payment. We had this bill on auto pay. There was a bursted pipe under the house. My dad is hard of hearing and didn’t hear the water running. The bank denied payment because it was for a lot more than usual. Amador Water doesn’t care about that. They want there money. No forgiveness. Ok so I make an extra $60 payment on the next bill and tell an employee I will continue to pay more every month. The following month I paid the bill and paid an extra $70. Guess what Amador Water wants all their money paid in full. So they send someone to my dad’s to shut off the water. After I get to my dad’s, I realize the water was off. I contact Amador Water they say they have no proof of payment . I text them a screenshot of payment that I made 4 days previously. So they send someone to turn the water back on. This is the worst part. THE FOLLOWING DAY we have two control burns on the property. Amador Water Agency comes back to my dads and SHUTS the F’n water OFF AGAIN!!!! There’s two fires, smoke everywhere !. They sneak on to the property and put a notice on the door knob and SHUT THE WATER OFF AGAIN. I realize the water is off AGAIN! I’m in full panic mode. I call Amador Water and ask them what the hell is going on. I tell them I already took care of the payment the previous day. I tell them about the fires. She could careless. Now they tell me they want to get paid in full. I’m going back and forth with this lady and ask her how would she feel if it were her dad in this situation but she continued to be cold as ice. I tell her please just turn the water back on. She said sure pay $150 and they are also charging me a $19 fee for the turn off and a $89 fee to turn it back on. What else can I do to get my dads water turned back on? Again 20+ years with not one late payment. The first time in over 20+ years where there was an accidental problem AMADOR WATER AGENCY JUMPS ON A CHANCE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A 85 YEAR OLD STROKE PATIENT AND PUTS HIS LIFE IN DANGER BY SHUTTING OFF THE WATER DURING CONTROL BURNS. There’s a reason why this business has a 2 star review. Next up BBB and the news stations. Guarantee they won’t even take the time to respond to this review.

I move from calaveras county there is bad water company ccwd.amodor water company does a good job.i think there cheaper than what I had before and the customer service is good.

The Amador Water Cartel is “managed” for the Directors profit ! Terrible customer service & a track record of Dishonest business practices.
They need too be indicted & replaced !
With one of the Highest water rates in the State, and rate hikes of > 100%, a “shortage of employees “ is. NOT an acceptable response for TERRIBLE customer service !
We need an opportunity too Vote on the rate increases and the AWC “ Board of Bozos”

Wow! just moved to pioneer in April. Got a notice on Monday that I missed a payment. Mailed it in immediately on monday, today is Friday and somebody drove all the way out to my house and left a note saying they will turn my water of on monday!!! One late bill, just found out on Monday. Who are these guys Can you say water mafia. Their water sucks!!!

AWA has been very responsive when I had to call them due to a color and odor concern I had in Ione. A tech was sent out in under an hour address my concerns and help us understand why this was happening. Thank you AWA!

AWA is very expensive and the bills keeping coming even after you move away from Sutter Creek.
