JT came and was knowledgeable when quoting. He was re-establishing my lawn after a grub infestation. He recommended taking out the dead grass, adding top soil and hydro seeding. He wasn’t on site for the job. The foreman was spraying with the hydro-seeder, turning it on and off. I asked why and was told the company that they rented the seeder from forgot to include the nozzle. He told me it was fine turning on and off.

Two weeks later, not a lot of grass in spite of rain and my diligence with watering. Four weeks out it was spotty. JT came out and blamed the record breaking September rains. He said the seed washed away. That didn’t sound right but he wouldn’t stand behind his work. If it washed down I’d see it in other areas

This spring I called two well known lawn care specialist. Both told
me the hydro-seeding was not properly done, due to no nozzle and the machine being turned on and off. When off the auger stops turning and the seed is not adequately suspended in the water. It also doesn’t result in seed getting into the soil with adequate pressure. This was explained by two independent lawn care specialists. JT refused to stand by, even when his errors were pointed out. Also one of the contractors told me he used soil with lots of small stones, rather than loam.

This is the job he left me with.

I’m a homeowner for 35 years. I don’t want anything for free. As a business person I pride myself on treating others fairly and with respect. I believe if you pay a fair price you should get a fair job. I did not. JT can tell you late September is not prime time for seeding. Goggle it, you’ll see this is another excuse. One of the contractors who came to quote me on the repair told me he seeds through late October. JT did quote me for sod as well but never pushed that nor told me late September was too late to seed. His response is exaggerated and not accurate.

If rain was the issue where’s all the seed on my back lawn which is flat. These are excuses JT uses to explain his crews failure and not stand behind his work, particular because of the hydro-seeder issue. I spent over 1600. And was left worse off than when I started.. that’s the bottom line. How would you feel if you spent good money for a terrible result

Just beware! It’s easy for him to make empty excuses.

We had a few trees fall across our driveway in the middle of a rain storm earlier this month. Neighbors with the chainsaw were out of town, wasn't sure what the plan was going to be. JT from Valley stopped by when he saw this and cut us a path in the driveway, free of charge! We're keeping Valley in mind for all future jobs!
