Delaware Landscaping transformed my property to something beautiful. I had a lot of shrubs and trees that had overgrown and got wild. Jerry Taylor from Delaware Landscaping came out, gave me a proposal. Jerry's crew removed all the old stuff. The 1st picture is of how the rear of my property looked before. (Major job) Jerry did a design and totally transformed my property. Jerry is an easy guy to work with and his crew are hardworking and professional, even the office staff are great to deal with. Delaware Landscaping has done several other properties in my development and all of my neighbors seem as pleased with their work as I am. I don't think you can find a better company to use or nicer people to deal with.

We have had Delaware Landscaping do many things for us over the years. We have found that Jerry is extremely knowledgeable about plants, trees, etc. We have always been given a fair price for the work to be done. Our latest project was to treat the wiregrass in the landscaping bed area. We asked them to take all of the shrubs out and treat the area. We wanted trimming done on some of our bushes and a tree as well. The workers are very polite, clean up all of the debris and just do an excellent job. We are very, very pleased with the results! We won't hesitate to call them for another job in the future! Thank you Delaware Landscaping for a job well done!

Placed an order over the phone for 2.5 tons of 3-5" stones, received a pile of mini boulders that are not close to what we asked for. Called and spoke with one of the owners who said we'd need to call back the next day to speak with whatever employee we placed the order with. This makes no sense, if you're the owner and I'm telling you this is not what I ordered, why do I need to call back and speak with someone else? After they tried to convince me that this was what I ordered and there will always be some variation, I asked to replace what was here with smaller stones. Apparently the best they could do was offer a discount of the 1-3" stones and I would need to pay to have someone come pick up the 3-5" because of the equipment required. I eventually managed to get through to them, enough at least, to understand that when the bulk of what was dropped off was 2x the size of what was needed for the project, maybe they made a mistake. They asked me to send them pictures which I did. I received a call back and they offered to deliver a half ton of 1-3" stones for free which would arrive by 9:00a the next morning as I had a contractor coming out that day to start the work. Not what I wanted but I figured I'd see if we could make it work.

Fast forward to 10:00a the next day, no delivery. I called and they said they had no delivery scheduled but would call me back. By this point, I had to call my contractor and cancel since work was to being at 11:00a. I received a call back at 11:18a, stating they could have the stones delivered in a few hours. It was at this point I informed them that I did not want the additional delivery and I would like a refund and for them to come pick up the stones. They said they have a no refund policy to which I asked where this was posted because it's not on their website, was not told to us over the phone and was not on any documentation we received. The answer, it's posted on the counter of their store.. After reminding them that this order was placed over the phone, they stood by their "policy" and told me that they don't control mother nature and I should have gone into the store to look at the rocks prior to ordering. What difference does this make? I ordered a specific size, you would assume that as a company, you would strive to provide the specified size or at least inform me, prior to purchase, of the massive variation. I understand there will be some variation but when the bulk is double the size, that's on the company. Are you telling me that if I ordered 1-3" rocks, I would have received mostly 6" or more?

Terrible company, shameful owners, would not recommend.

Our project is not yet complete, but I wanted to post a comment about the tremendous service we get from Delaware Landscaping. We started a few weeks back with a complete redo of the planting beds around the house. Gerardo and his crew removed all the old variety of materials from the beds, put down new fabric, and installed river jack all the way around the house. At he same time, they removed a tree we needed gone, moved several rose bushes and ground out 2 stumps. These guys wasted no time, arriving on time, and going full tilt each day. Anything we asked got the same response, "No problem. Happy to help." Now we are almost finished with the back yard, having sprayed the entire area to kill the existing grass (and weeds), upgrading the irrigation system, preparing to lay sod. Chip is on site to manage the entire process, and takes great pride in his work. Again, it is clear that his goal is to make my wife and me happy with the project, and proud of what we are having done. And it's working. There is no doubt in my mind that this newly improved irrigation is going to help us grow a lawn that will be the envy of the neighborhood.We are delighted and look forward to enjoying our backyard deck and pool area. Can not say enough good things about Chip, Gerardo, and everyone else we have met and worked with at Delmarva Landscaping. Thanks, guys!!

Just needed to update with photos of the completed sod work. As I have come to expect, everything went exactly as Chip said it would, and we are delighted. Three weeks after install, our yard is looking better than ever. You can see it in the attached pics from June 5, and it continues to look even better.

We Had 3 flower beds redone by Delaware Landscaping, Overall they look really good. I liked that the person that came out to do the quote was very knowledgeable and knew what to do with our space and budget to maximize curb appeal. I love the choices he made for the landscaping and I can be pretty picky. My only issue is there is weed fabric is showing in numerous places. Two of the flower beds were already lined with simple retaining wall blocks, instead of moving them to place the fabric and everything nicely then putting them back they just placed the fabric inside so there will be a ton of weeds. Not only that there is nothing keeping the fabric down at all except the thin layer of mulch so if we get a lot of wind and rain it will easily shift. We may have to go in, move the stones and pin the tarp down Then freshen the mulch. I really don't want to do that, that's why I paid someone but honestly its a small complaint and I am overall satisfied. I would like better communication on some things through the process and for issues like that so when I use them next, because I definitely love the work enough to use them again, I will just make sure I am off work and we have discussed more beforehand. Another bonus is they thoroughly cleaned up any mess they made, the only evidence they were there at all was my house looking MUCH better than when I left for work.

EDIT: It's been about 2.5 months and there is already grass growing in one of the flower beds, the others have more weeds than when I did it myself. Their choice to not properly put down the tarp and not put the standard amount of mulch is definitely noticeable. I'm extremely disappointed. I have actually been home so I've been weeding constantly and it's pretty ridiculous. It looks like it hasn't been weeded for weeks after a week or so. For the prices they charge, they should be putting the 3 inches of mulch and putting the tarp down with something. Mulch and staples aren't expensive. Moving bricks takes no time. I'm not going to change my rating because it has been a while and I feel that is unfair to the business, they were very kind and professional with me. I just think they should make sure the people they send out take more care and time with the work

We placed an order over the phone for 2.5 tons of 3"-5" river jack after being told they have it and could deliver it the following Monday. What we received was a pile of large landscaping rocks averaging 6-10 inches. We called to let them know there had been a mistake and the manager had the nerve to start mansplaining about natural natural variance in sizes and how they couldn't be held accountable for some variation. I explained that I wouldn't have been upset about an occasional 6" rock, but the pile I have is mostly 6-10" with the occasional even larger one. No one looking at these would classify them as fitting the 3"-5" category, but they kept saying "we can't control nature" as though they had no control over the sorting, selling, and shipment of their products and the sizes are really just a definition system that no one uses. We asked about ordering the 1"-3" instead. They said we would need to pay them to pick up these and they could offer us a discount on the replacements. We followed up pictures of what we received and they admitted that the rocks were on the larger side and offered to send us .5 tons of smaller rocks free as a filler for us to use with the large. We had a contractor scheduled to arrive the next morning at 11am to use the rock and figured it may work so we agreed. The next morning? Nothing arrived. Nobody reached out. After checking website, I found out that 3"-5" river jack isn't even listed. Stones like the ones they sent us are displayed under the "Landscaping Stones/Boulders" section. We called them and got in touch with the original woman who had some perfunctory excuse about why they hadn't shown up that morning, but failed to provide a reason why nobody bothered to let us know. At that point we had realized that they had sold something they didn't have, likely with the intention of delivering these big rocks and passing it all off as something that just happens. We were told that "We can't blame mother nature." We told her that we wanted a refund and she told us they had a no refund policy. I asked her why she didn't inform me of that when I made the purchase. She said because it's clearly displayed on the sign...on the front desk. I reminded her that I ordered over the phone and thus would have needed to be informed about the policy since I can't see the sign. She said "Well that's how it goes, sometimes you get what you want and sometimes you don't" and said that they refuse to either refund the money or to come remove the big pile of rocks they've left here.
