I rarely leave reviews but after my horrible experience at the Madison Ave store I felt I had an obligation to inform potential customers, especially POC, of the treatment that they can expect. My salesperson was Anna G. I had purchased a pair of the Bottega Veneta Orbit sneakers/ walking shoe mid June of 2024 with a price tag of $1100. They were aesthetically pleasing and comfortable so made the purchase.
Fast forward to three and a half months later. I was in NYC walking down the street on a slightly rainy day and noticed my right foot was wet. I looked down only to notice that the sole had separated from the front part of the shoe. ( see enclosed picture). I was in shock because I had only worn the shoes for three and and a half months. As a dentist I’m sitting most of the day so the shoe had limited wear. I immediately contacted Anna G at the Madison Ave store since I was only about 15 blocks from three store. Since she didn’t respond i decided to go in person to see if the situation could be resolved. I showed Anna G the tear in the shoe and she said the only solution was to send the shoe out for repair and that it could take up to 2 months. I was surprised to hear that they repaired sneakers. Leather shoes/jackets maybe but not sneakers. There was no mention of exchanging the shoe being that it only lasted for 3.5 months. At this point I was frustrated because I was leaving the country in a couple of weeks and had planned on wearing the shoe as I would be walking extensively. I inquired if there was a similar shoe I could purchase while the other pair was out for repair. Anna G said there was nothing in the Madison Ave store. She did find something in their store in the Short Hills Mall in Nj that I could purchase. I asked her if she could call the store before I drove over an hour in the rain to make sure they had the correct size. She did not. According to her search of their inventory they had my size. So I left trusting that my size would be there.
When I arrived at the Bottega Veneta store in NJ they told me they DID NOT have have my size but they did have the same exact shoe that needed to be sent out for repair. Ashlyn, the salesperson at the Short Hills Store, was extremely professional, knowledgeable and pleasant. I asked if she could call the Madison Ave store to inquire about an exchange. Ashlynn was on the phone multiple times with Anna G and her manager trying to help me resolve the situation but to no avail. Unfortunately the Madison Ave store said that there would be no exchange. If I wanted another pair I would have to purchase another pair. Period. Despite the fact that the shoe only lasted several months with minimal wear. I would caution anyone to avoid these boutique stores and find an upscale mall. I will definitely not return to the Madison Ave store and will warn anyone to avoid shopping there. Thanks Ashlynn!

I’m a big fan of the brand, the store is stunning with very appealing display makes you want to buy everything.
The staff is friendly and very helpful.
One star is dropped because recently the wait time to have a staff member find the correct size in the back room is just too long. I also found that some of the product can be in store in the back room but not on display which is annoying because you want to see everything they are offering, except of course if it’s a collection that didn’t launch yet. To spare myself some time I decided that my most recent purchase be online eventhough I’m never a fan of buying stuff online.
I’m hoping my next visits will call for an edit to this review and add the 5th star back.

Very disheartening experience. My father and I stopped in from out of town on our annual trip to NY. I had interest in 3 bags and was prepared to purchase. Not only were we NOT greeted upon arrival; the two sales associates didn’t acknowledge us at ALL. Instead, they asked the non-POC who entered AFTER us if they needed assistance.
Of course, we were the only POC in the store. I have never been so outwardly profiled in my entire life. In New York of all places, at that…meanwhile we stayed at the Park Hyatt for 2k a night. Laughable

I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Bottega Veneta. The customer service was shockingly unprofessional, difficult to reach, and lacked basic respect. It’s truly disappointing that a brand this big shows such little regard for its customers.

Had a wonderful experience. Excellent sales staff and a most beautiful store. Brought a bag in for repair and the staff were most helpful. Ended up buying a whole lot of new goodies.

I have been a very loyal customer of the brand for well over 20 years. I made my way to the Madison Avenue boutique on a Saturday, and was told to wait outside by a sales associate with three other people. There were but three people on the main floor in the boutique. Even though it was fashion week, I encourage management to allow those that spend money on your product to enter the store. That way purchases can be made, store rents can be paid, and sales associates can make a commission, etc, etc. Just a thought...

It was a sweltering day and perhaps one other customer was in the store but the guard out front wouldn't let us in because we didn't have an appointment!
Finally we were let in and had to deal with a very rude and abrupt salesperson. I was with a friend who had purchased 2 bags there and had a question! The salesperson was condescending and walked away from us.
