on 9/27/2024 i purchased a new bentley pontoon from Mckibben boating center.This boat was suppose to come with a cover but when I was leaving I was informed that the cover that was on the boat did not fit and they would order me a new one and it would take about two weeks.i called every few weeks and got excuse after excuse.i finally called Bentley to see if they could help me and they got the same story they had been telling me.the cover finally came in after three months and it was the wrong one and they would order me another one,but the next morning I got a call saying they were trying to decide who was going to pay for it.i told them it was not going to be me.they finally got a cover that in that fit ,but boat set up there for one month to get a cover installed.after four months I finally got my cover.At the same time I purchased my boat I bought a three year extended service contract on Yamaha motor and it was never registered.i asked them to register it three times and after getting yamaha involved it was finally registered but only for two years.i spent four months dealing with these people and I will never do business with them again.Rudy

I had the best experience dealing with Anthony Pollio. He went above and beyond measure to ensure that I had my problem resolved on my boat cover. I highly recommended going to see Anthony!

By far the worst customer service experience I’ve had with purchasing a large purchase. Management is non existent and Dave is allegedly the only person in the boating center that can help you. He lacks skills in communication, follow up, customer service, management and sales. Matt the other manager is more helpful but also lacks most of these basic skills and says he is not able to help with anything boating so Dave is your only go to. If you’re looking for a bad experience purchasing a boat then this is your place.

UPDATE 9/10/24— Their response below is also a testament to their customer service, I emailed the “owner” on that same day and still no reply back or phone call. Perfect example they set for their employees.

Only been in Lake Placid for 2 weeks and was looking for a shop to service my bass boat. Checked out local shops then decided on McKibben. Needed the 2 stroke oil tanks flushed and refilled. Not only did they do that but also ran a scan on the 150 Optima Mercury. Then reviewing the results. Randy and John were most helpful with helping me getting the most out of the Motor. Fantastic work, had it done that day. I was impressed with the attention to Detail and Quality of they're work. I'm going back tomorrow to see about a few other things I need done. Wanted to mention that Nate was always there to greet me and see what I needed and Dave for checking on the progress of the boat. Thanks for a Great Job, you guys are Tops in my Book.

I moved to Lake Placid Florida from South Florida about a year ago and recently needed to have my boat motor repaired so I went to Lake Placid Marine close to my house because I had gone there before to purchase some odds and ends and I noticed the lady that runs the place was kind of rude but I shrugged it off because I'm from Boston so I'm used to people in the south that tend to be a bit negative to me. But my when wife who is from the south told me she treated her and her dad the same way. When I went there to ask her about my motor repair and all she wanted to do was sell me a battery before she would even check my boat motor. And she was rude about it. So I called Performance Sales and Service the guy on the phone was polite and respectful he told me they were about a week behind in repairs but when I explained my problem the same way I did at Lake Placid Marine he told me it sounded like something simple that might be a quick easy fix. He couldn't promise me anything and he couldn't put ahead of anyone else but between jobs he would check for out for me. Two days later the motor was fixed at a reasonable price. These guys were awesome I would recommend them to anyone. I will definitely use them in the future for any of my fishing needs. The guy that works there is a fun person to talk to and gave me great advice on how to catch bass in this area which is very different from South Florida. With his information I am catching more bass than ever. They are so friendly there you can actually hang out at their tackle shop and talk about fishing I love this place.

Started to have trouble with a boat we just bought. Took to McKibben. I highly recommend them. Tech changed out all the old gas lines. Getting small debris in filters. After taking back to store in frustration. Tech came to me to check out on the water. That’s when he realize former owner put a new gas tank on but not for a high pressure 4 stroke. Boat runs like new. All the staff was kind and wanted my problem solved. Thanks again. Will use for future needs.
