I hired Kevin based on many positive referrals from several Facebook groups and Google.

Kevin did a fantastic job at my sister's house redoing her entire back yard. I then hired Kevin to build a paver garden in front of my home.

I was quoted and gave a deposit. The quote states

108 Pavers Leveled approximately 1.5" apart.
3/8" Granite Chips
Leveling Sand
Extra Granite Chips

Kevin arrived and installed all the pavers without leveling. My wife had no idea and paid him the remaining balance. I came home and immediately called Kevin. He arrived back at the house shortly after.

After some back and forth and agreeing to give him a second chance (I had to pay an extra $1500 to level it correctly) I decided it was in my best interest to find someone else who was competent to complete the project the first time.

"Hello Fabian, as I said earlier I am willing to correct the job at The standard price for compacted leveling with extra material. With the work performed the price was budgeted to work with the Lowes pavers at an affordable price.
It was a homeowner value job using local homeowner supplies. If we were to use commercial grade material of course prices would be skyrocketed compared to the job we did.

Keep in mind settling does occur within a couple days to a week (which is why you do not drive on paver driveways for the first week as well.)

That being said your wife and sister both loved the job and had confidence in it.

We have no problem providing you other paver work that was priced to be laser straight and level with correct paver base and leveling sand to restore your confidence."

As a fellow small business owner I would NEVER ask a client to pay twice to complete a project that was quoted to be done correctly the first time.

I will update my review if the situation changes. I made every effort to handle this with the owner directly.
