New home owner’s son here! Came across this wonderful community sitting in Plant City while we were looking for houses more in the Tampa area. Absolutely beautiful environment and it clicked instantly. Our amazing D.R. Horton agent Dana was on task through the entire process. Because of weird schedules we had, we had to rush a lot of things including closing. And Dana was so so helpful all the way through. Thank you so much Dana for all your time and hard work to make this happen!! Much appreciated it!!

DR Horton is one of the better builders in the area. The staff in this office is extremely nice. The selection of homes is quite good.

So far our experience has been really great. As with all things there's some setbacks. However it is to be expected that there will be something happening during the build of any house.

My wife and I specifically dealt with James who happens to be a retired hockey player. Very nice person and some great stories. I invite you to stop by and speak to him just to chat. He's that nice. His coworker who I can't recall her name right now is also great at her job. They're both professional knowledgeable and prompt in response. What more could you ask?

I started off by saying that DR Horton is one of the better builders in the area. They happen to use cinder block on the second story of the build. It has been my experience that this not only helps with structural rigidity but gives the home more of a thermal mass that helps keep your temperature consistent during the seasons. But you need to do your own research on that. I'm not offered professional advice in any way just that of an end user.

I have recently bought a house from D.R. Horton. I had the worst experience with the management team. They are not good in handling customer or their concerns. The quality of the building was poor, I found Mutiple issue in the construction, I had to call, escalate to get some response. The team is not helpful and understands the homeowners pain. Attached image are some of the broken items which was in the building.

They building cheap homes . never buy from them.my person experience we purchased new home in 2017 from them . First rain our home have water leak everywhere. Second story sub problem .They never able to fix any problem Neverever me or my family will buy D R horton build home. 0 Star review

Dana Ammons was our sales representative. The records may show James Organ because Dana was out of the office the day we completed our purchase paperwork, so James was filling in for her on that day. Both Dana and James were outstanding.

We are giving a 5-STAR rating to Dana Ammons and the title company. The 4-star rating is due to some issues with the build itself. *See the details below.*

The Sales Experience (5-STARS):
The sales process was smooth, and everything was accurately explained to us. While the sales reps can never promise how long it will take to complete the construction, our house was completed well within the time frame that was suggested/estimated.

Communication from Dana throughout the construction/build process was top-notch. Dana visited the construction site on a regular basis, and even sent photos. She also updated us regarding which stage of the build that they were in and what to expect next. Whenever we asked her any questions, she obtained the answers and responded to us in a timely manner.
Even several months after closing, Dana has still made herself available for questions and support. We are very pleased with the entire sales and post-sale experiences.

*The Build Process (4-stars):*
We were very pleased about the turnaround time of getting the house completed. However, there were a number of issues with the house after completion. All of the issues were minor ones and were resolved to our satisfaction without any pushback. The reason that we rated 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because many of the defects were obvious and should not have been missed in the first place.

Phonzo Cromartie, Jr. was instrumental in getting various vendors scheduled to come out and make the requested repairs and corrections. He did a great job supporting us. Construction superintendent Cameron Claridy even went to Plant City Hall on the day of our closing to get a required document to ensure that we closed on time. The teamwork was definitely apparent.

The Closing Process:
Our experience with the DR Horton title company was also smooth and efficient. Communication and support from Loarima Cruz and Jazz Diaz was outstanding.
Overall, we’re very pleased with our new home.

Honestly I don’t recommend these new homes. These guys are in hurry to build to sale not a quality homes. You guys will pay for CDD and HOA just for developing N park road. Just think a minimum before spending your hard earned money.

Worked on a deal with Karen Larsen as first time home buyers. We were rushed to sign documents within time frames of hours with verbal assurance that if any issues arose in the process we would have 30 days to cancel the transaction. Well, it turns out after signing the purchase contract we received approval from DR Horton's mortgage company that the original payment estimate was way lower than the actual payment presented to us. Once this became apparent, I immediately attempted to cancel the transaction and was told (and did) lose the Earnest Deposit of $14,250 with no sympathy.

If you are considering buying here HIRE A REAL ESTATE ATTORNEY FIRST to review the contract. It is heavily built to protect the builder with little to protect buyers.
