My family has been loyal customers of Shell-Ross for about 70 years. I’ve noticed a definite decline in quality over the past few years. Prices have steadily increased, selection has decreased. A small bag of frozen purple hull peas is now $8.50. We told them “No thanks!”
We bought cantaloupe and a watermelon, our last visit (and I mean last). Both were too past ripe to be fit to eat.
Tomatoes, okra, were pricey, but good quality.

Great customer service. Was out of okra & corn. The lady at the counter was very helpful and she wrapped & taped my peas in a paper sack I told her I was bringing them back on an airplane. Super place to visit.

Shell-Ross is a Pine Bluff institution. Everyone goes here for bedding plants, hanging baskets & all the seasonal things from pumpkins to periwinkles. This is often my go-to place for gift basket items - from pepper jelly to pear butter. They really have too many items to list - fresh vegetables in season, yard tools, muck boots, fertilizer, bug killers & so much more. I can't imagine going into Shell-Ross & coming out empty handed.

I went in to purchase a large amount of watermelons today and the gentleman that works there told me he does not allow anyone to pick thru his watermelons, you buy as they sell. I explained to the gentleman that he wouldn’t go to a car lot and buy a car he didn’t want that he had to pay for.I’ve been dealing with watermelons over 40 odd years. After a brief respectful conversation between the two of us, I came to the conclusion that I will not do business with again.

A bit run down but still nice to shop here. Their sales area was awesome with old time sales bins, antique type atmosphere. I spent a lot more time looking around than I did shopping.
