The new AWESOME LIRR in Grand Central Station (GCS) in NYC!!!
On the west/Vanderbilt St side of GCS, take the escalator below the Main Concourse to the Madison Concourse.
Go through blue-green doors and turn right.
The concourse is newly built, spacious, CLEAN, no stinky smell, with three NYPD posts & several cops, CLEAN restrooms with paper pads for toilets seats, shops, food, drinks.
The LIRR Ticketing and Customer Service is at this level (3rd down from the Main Concourse).
Take the deep escalator (seems to be 6-7 floors high) down (one each at 45th, 46th, 47th Sts).
There are elevators between the 46th & 47th exits.
Look for your track on the monitor which is accessible through another escalator down or up.
Once in the platform for track 302, the first car is the tail of the train. I describe this so those with motion sickness could choose a seat facing the front.
There is internet connectivity four levels beneath street level.

Let’s hope LIRR and us, rail riders, maintain this wonder in NYC, especially the restrooms!

Newest edition to Grand Central. Finally after all these years the Long Island Railroad is now linked to mid-Manhattan. The railroad is 14 stories underground and everything is brand new. The concourse is clean and has some nice artwork and food choices. It just opened in January so a lot of retail stores aren't open yet. This is a nice edition to Grand Central.

Absolutely beautiful. But leave some time. Takes about ten minutes from the street to walk through Grand Central, get tickets at the kiosk and fine the track.

Under construction for many years and finally completed.
This a secret gem for travelers getting to JFK & Long Island from Westchester and CT. Beautiful new station with quick access from the Lower Level of Grand Central Terminal.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL and so incredibly well kept! A stunning showcase in what a well built, well run, truly world class public infrastructure terminal looks and feels like. I'm sure behind the scenes nothing is perfect, but for this passenger the concourse was bright, clean, with clear signage everywhere. Extra shout out for the beautiful Yayoi Kusama mosaic!

A truly wonderful Station. Not just for its accessibility, transit and ease of use, but it is quite reliable. I can get to anywhere faster and in less time and this is what I love the most. Also upon that, I love the station, plus its pretty visually and aesthetically pleasing to see when I pass through there.
