I had been having a problem with my 18’ pontoon with a 75 Merc seeming to cavitate at take off. After buying 4 different props trying to fix the problem and doing a lot of research, I determined that I was getting blow by from the exhaust. The plastic ring that came on the boat just floated around and seemed to be getting smaller as the blow by got worse. I was ready to unbolt the motor and drop it into the lake and buy a new motor! I walked in to Action Marine south of Dothan and when the guys heard my description of my problem they picked up a plastic snap in ring in two sizes. They even went out into the shop and took the prop off of a 75 being serviced to ensure I got the right part. NO MORE BLOW BY!!! Thanks guys. I’m from the Tallahassee area, but I will return to Action Marine for all my future marine needs!

I really wanted to support these guys but in the end I did not feel that my minor repair issue was taken seriously. Brought small outboard in for maintenance and to have what should be a fairly easy to check water pump issue checked. It was apparently not checked and instead a very basic check to see if water pump was pumping any water was done. When I ran it the next day to see if it was working fine I found that extremely hot water was being pumped through the motor (steaming hot water far above the operating temp). When I called to simply ask if they did indeed check the water pump so that I could further look into the problem I was told that this is how these engines run. I can only infer from this that , no the water pump was not checked. I am dissatisfied and will not likely return.

After an exceptionally bad weekend scalloping, we were lucky enough to have a bearing go out on our boat trailer just 8 miles from Action Marine! I say lucky because instead of having to fix this on the side of the road or a parts house parking lot, Wayne, Bud & Matt at Action Marine welcomed us in. They opened a bay for us to back under the shade, put a fan on us, sold us all the parts we needed and loaned us tools. We couldn't have been more satisfied with them or this place! They were a real bright spot in an otherwise trying weekend.

Action Marine, on the Southside, is such a pleasure to work with! Joseph and the crew are professional, quick, and work really hard to get you what you want. The folks in the parts department are great too...funny and efficient! If you need a boat, or service, you couldn't choose a better place!

Sandy Bush was the salesperson that sold us our new Bennington pontoon boat. She took her time with us, explaining every question we had. She visibly showed us the accessories and functions on the vessel. I would highly recommend her to anyone interested in buying a boat.
