We recently hired Adolfo Landscaping to trim three feet off the top of a large 40x40 viburnum hedge, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the exceptional service they provided. I don’t have much information about this company, but I can tell you they lack any sense of ethics. On the morning of October 10th, I was outside with our family dog, a 60-pound black lab, who was on an electronic leash. Several cars had passed by, including a landscaping truck, which she ignored. However, when this landscaping truck drove down our quiet dead end street, it was going about 50 miles an hour, making a lot of noise (due to the excessive speed) with the trailer behind it. It was the noise and speed caused my dog to chase after it. The driver mowed her down did not even slow down or stop. He simply went to the end of the cul-de-sac and parked and watched me wail over her body in the street as she died in my arms.

I moved her lifeless body to the side of the road and was out there wailing over her for about 90 minutes while the sheriff came and then animal control. The driver did not at any point acknowledge me, approach me or offer any form of apology. A neighbor spoke with him before the authorities arrived, and he was fully aware that he had hit my dog. When I contacted the company’s owner, he claimed the driver didn’t come over because he only spoke Spanish. There are many Spanish speakers in Florida, and I understand Spanish myself. He had no way of knowing if I could speak it, but he still didn’t approach me. Communication can transcend language barriers, and a simple gesture of compassion would have been appreciated.

The driver lied to the police about speeding, despite the fact that there are several cameras in this neighborhood which prove otherwise. When I spoke to the owner on the phone, I simply asked them to cover the cost of my dog’s cremation but he adamantly refused to take any responsibility and then didn’t even bother to respond to my email.

If you love animals, I strongly recommend not using this company. Their true character has been clearly shown in their complete lack of accountability or any compassion. My 7 children lost our family dog in the most horrific way possible, in a violent, sudden and utterly preventable death right in front of our home. The spot on the street where her entrails stained it (despite repeated attempts at scrubbing it with bleach, soap and water it will not come out) is a constant reminder of this company’s negligence and complete and utter lack of compassion.

I used Adolfo to remove two palm trees, some bushes, trim my magnolia tree and plant new low maintenance features in the front of my house. From initial consultation to finished product, I'm very pleased with the professionalism, responsiveness of the crew and the quality of the work done. I had a concern about an item and Adolfo immediately rectified the situation.

Glad I found and hired Adolpho Landscaping! It is so hard to find any contractors you can trust. I went with Adolpho based on other good reviews. I needed 3 trees cut down, stumps removed, sod and other plants installed. They did a great job for a fair price. They were very hard working and professional. I highly recommend them and will definitely be using them again for more work in the near future.
