Warning! Don’t work with this company! They come into your neighborhood saying they’ll give you a deal, because they’re already working with a neighbor, bid low, and will leave you hanging with huge trunks and debris. Three weeks I waited and no returned calls. Simply one text after a week of me calling and texting daily, and never again. The owner said he knew he agreed to remove the tree and debris, that I wasn’t the only one, but he didn’t have money to hire a truck. No one answers at the office number. It was such an awful experience! They don’t stand behind their contracted agreements. Customer service is nonexistent.

Apex Arbor Care removed a large tree from my back yard near a detached garage. In doing so, they damaged my roof, which is going to cost $3,200 to fix. I've tried to contact the owner and the company on multiple occasions and no one has responded to my requests. I'm now out of pocket for an amount well over what the tree service cost. It's disappointing as all of the service up to that point with the sales manager was fantastic and the quote was competitive.

If you're considering Apex, I'd strongly consider you to do two things: 1) they claim to be licensed and insured -- require them to show you proof before you move forward. I may just not be able to find it, but I attempted to file a formal complaint with the state and couldn't find any record of a license. 2) look up their BBB reviews -- I filed a complaint and you'll find there are many others that have had significant issues without resolution.

Some quick research will save you the hassle I've been put through.

Update: I’ve now called multiple times over the past two weeks, leaving a detailed message referencing this post and I’ve yet to receive a call back. It appears clear there’s no real intent to fix this issue.

Mike was the first representative we met - was refreshing to have a company from my hometown in Louisiana helping with storm cleanup. Jason came by and gave us a quote. I would encourage consumers to be sure everything you want done is documented on that piece of paper. Derek is the tree climber/cutter and does a great job - John was with him cleaning up and assisting him. They started on Sunday evening and got a head start on the job. Monday morning, a crew of 6-7 arrived with a bobcat to get the rest of the tree and debris out. They did that and we are GRATEFUL to have the 60 foot tree removed!

Very unprofessional. Did not finish job, left debris for me to have to dispose of, and left my yard and fence damaged. When they showed up for job, they only completed half of the job and tried getting more money for the already quoted job. They came and snuck their equipment off of our property and then told us to call someone else to finish the job, they didn't want to do it anymore.

Got a quote of $900 to cut down some tree branches hanging over our home and remove all debris. I was promised debris would be removed the next day. It's been over a week they are giving me same response that today is the day they are coming to get it removed. But as of now it's still sitting here.
Update: after 3 weeks they finally got all debris removed, not sure I would recommend this company.

Doing business with Apex Arbor care was a very frustrating and unpleasant experience. Apex did not cut all the dead limbs they agreed to cut and they left debris and logs scattered across my lawn as well as a large pile of limbs in front of my garage which they never picked up (although the owner committed to come back to remove the debris). They never responded to a single phone message, text message or email. Finally, they caused substantial damage to my roof as well as knocking out my neighbors AC. They did not charge for the final portion of the job but this did not cover the costs of repairs plus the expense of hiring a different company to come take away the debris/logs they left in my yard and driveway. I strongly recommend not hiring Apex for any purpose.

After very first encounter with this crew/company, had thought I would be writing to leave an amazing review. They were already doing work at a neighbors and had them give me an estimate to do some work at my property. I felt the estimate from Frazier was fair and told them to move forward. They had a lot of work in the area and knew they had a lot to get done. Half way through the day, Frazier asked for full payment for the agreed upon work. I was not comfortable providing payment for work that had not been even started, much less finished... and knew it would be near impossible to get done what they were suggesting. After much discussion with Frazier, he absolutely assured me the work would get done and cleaned properly... that day. Well, of course they were not able to finish that day which I knew would be the case. It has now been almost a week since I paid, and I am yet to have the job finished of what I paid. I even have cut down and personally did some of the work myself to move things along. After many calls, yesterday I was 100% promised that the first thing on the agenda for today would be the removal of the debris still left on my property. It is now almost 6pm, and it is still here. I was perfectly happy with the crew and the work that was actually done, but these guys have over promised and under delivered on the already paid work. I think they do a good job overall and even at a fair price. HOWEVER!! My caution to you is to NOT pay until the job was done. I should have stuck with my instinct. These guys should finish a job before moving to the next.

Editing this post for 1-day after this was written. Apex did finally come out and clean up the remaining debris, and they did clean it well!! It was dissapointing how many times needed to call to get the quoted work done (stumps ground), small brush clearing I ended up doing myself, and the clean-up. But, overall I am satisfied with the work done. To clarifiy, I would have no problem using this company again in the future, I would just make it clear that final payment would not be provided until the work is finished. There guys work their tails off from sun-up until sun-down!

Don and his crew were here today and completed the job in excellent manner! We have very several large live oak trees on the proerty and many of the branches hung over the roof of the house. His climber is excetional. He worked fast and was cautious as not to do any damage to the surrounding area and home. The crew cut and cleaned everything up as promised and left the property in good order. I recommend you give Apex Arbor a chance to give you an estimate if you are considering tree work of any kind.
