They have the monopoly on this business and charging whatever amount they want.
For the driver to come down and open the gate to access the trash bin, to unlocking and green trash can to lock the gate to remove the trash to put back..

It is so ridiculous and there is nothing anyone can do.
No other company is available.
How come there is no other company available to use?
Isn't it a little suspicious?

1 time that I called for answers on why we weren't serviced, the Guy I spoke to was extremely rude, his name is Anthony. I even told him I can prove him that we didn't get serviced and he said that if I needed to get service then I'll have to pay an additional fee, because the guy that picks up the garbage reported it as picked up. Also these guys are not following their routine. Supposedly we're supposed to get serviced 2 times a week but we only get 1 time a week. It's not fair that they are sharp on payment days but not with the service they should be providing us with. I lost all respect I had for this company.

They always miss pickups and then claim the driver was there and completed service. This is what happens when City government hands out a monopoly on core services.

Incredibly dissatisfied with Athens Services. I have to make multiple follow-up calls routinely to their customer service number because our trash bins are not emptied as scheduled. Athens, I don't understand why you can't keep your end of the bargain. We're paying for a scheduled service. Get it done! .. without me having to make multiple phone calls to your office. The testimonials on Athens' website are hard to believe. Does anyone know if it's possible to change services or are we locked in to Athens?

The company carries poor quality of trash barrels that crack easily. We requested for a replacement which is out of stock and having a high demand for replacements as they said.

The driver came yesterday (5/9), two weeks after our 1st call, without replacing our green barrel.
We called the office again in the late afternoon, we were told that no crack found. The customer service sent us the pictures taken by the driver. He did a lousy job, he didn't take a close picture of the crack.
Long story short, the representative Jasmine promised to have it replaced today.

We talked to the supervisor Melissa this afternoon, telling her that we have seen water leaking out from the crack, but they don't consider the long crack at the back of the barrel is an issue. It is still usable.
After a long talk, she promised to give us a refurnished green barrel tomorrow (5/10) as an exceptional case. Hopefully they keep the promise this time.
If we want a new barrel, we have to pay for it, so ridiculous! What's a rip off! That means new ones are available, not out of stock? Isn't the monthly fee including replacement for free?

We are keeping the yard waste in garbage bags now and we need to use the green barrel for the our landscaping re-do. As we are not allowed to dump green waste into the old barrel.

Super poor customer service!! Poor communications!!

Bad at communication and follow through. Never fixed damage they caused to my property. If I could fire them I would but the City mandates we use their services. The prices have almost doubled and as an RSO building the City limits rent increases far below the percentage they allow Athens.

Such a horrible company, I can’t even understand how they are contracted from the city. They miss pick ups every week, the drivers are terrible, there is no way to talk to anyone outside of the regular customer service who has no idea of what is going on. They will throw all trash in the ground when they pick up even tho the overflow is from them missing the pick ups. They lie every time you call them even though we have cameras all over showing the drivers not even stopping.. i honestly cannot wait for the day the city drops them so I don’t have to deal with them..

Horrible service. Pick up is missed often. Spill trash out of bin and don't pick up. The driver of the trash truck asks for food or money before he picks up trash. Cost is horrendous and service is POOR. Private company would charge 75% less but we are forced to have Athens
