My gate at my business was damaged. Called two places for estimate to adjust my gate and get it back rolling correctly. I was told someone would call me when they became available. I drive past my shop a few hours later and Doug the owner was there working. No crew just him. I’ve used these guys in the past and had no problems. I talked to Doug and he said a crew would be out when they got off of another job and it was getting close to lunch. They came they were there about an hour and half two tops. So the owners time and the crews time is less than three hours total. Anyway I get a non itemized large inflated bill for almost 1700.00, then they threaten to lien the if I don’t pay this insane amount. I argue and they reduce it to 1185.50, charge overtime in the middle of the day and claim the crew worked thru lunch although they told us otherwise when they pulled up with drink cups in hand cause they ate on the way over. My job is no rush and it’s just lunch time so if anyone pays OT it should be the next job not mine. Anyway, there no way I would have ever paid this much to adjust a gate. They never took the gate down even. It was literally some wrenches and hammer time after they were done pulling on it and pushing on it with a bobcat. I had already used my bobcat to make the gate useable again so if they had given an estimate for one I would have found someone else or done it myself before I spent that amount of money to fix. I have a machine and employees and tools and we could have done it ourselves. Now I try to negotiate the bill to an acceptable amount and it is clearly not going to happen. WARNING!! Before you do business with this company get your estimate In writing! If they just show up and start working (I think this was the plan) they figure well they won’t get stopped because you need the work done and they’re already there, wrong! If you did not authorize work and agree to a price in advance or at least a hourly rate there is no contract, verbal or written. I run a business obviously but even when people do not ask for a price we still tell them at least a range or rate prior to dispatching a truck for this very reason. You get done and have issues. I’m just used to working with honest local business owners like myself that help each other out if there an issue. These guys just want all the money they can get out of you and threaten to lien stuff if you don’t pay a price you never agreed to. I may not be the cheapest but I tell people the cost upfront and they agree or they can not agree and call the next place. So this review is for deceptive practices at best and they know what they are doing because they keep coming up with more stories on “how they bill”. I could go on and on but I’m done for now. It takes a lot for me to go to Google but the fact we are even at this point is crazy. Most people that leave me Google reviews never call me or bring anything to my attention. I’ve been talking to these people for days. I have attempted to resolve the problem and apparently they rather have the money.
