I come here at least once a week. I’m a Berkeley resident since 2005. My kids love the staff, the books, and the play area.

I’ve done work and research here and it’s great for quiet and relaxation.

The staff is helpful and knowledgeable.

As a homeschool parent, we consider Berkeley Publicly Library as a staple resource for our children’s education.

There are plenty of computers, videos, and books to choose from.

The basement floor is great for education events and story time.

I highly recommended!

Small library but has a very cute kid's play section with a big Lego table with tons of Lego bricks including little Lego cars and planes and fences and seesaws and lots of Lego people.
This library packs a lot in!
Robust graphic novel section
Some excellent bilingual and Spanish book areas.
Coloring section
Detailed calendar with lots of cool items planned like a butterfly release in May!
I love the little Seed Library where you can check out seed packets!
And there is a whole section of useful items for check out like an instant pot and umbrellas and even musical instruments.
And a great parent's resources for homeschooling section!

I’ve been coming here a few times for the past year. I live down the block. Some staff here make you very uncomfortable. Clicking pens bother them & having “open drinks” here is all of a sudden unacceptable. The library is meant for the community & should be welcoming. Not for it to be another place of negligence especially for those of us who live here.

This library has a great selection for a small area, very accessible and amenable to local residents. I was very impressed by the graphic novel section especially and the library holds regular events for the community, Murder Mystery Evenings, regular showings of classic and contemporary films, guest speakers, childrens activities, homework club, art and crafts activities, video game afternoons etc.

The library is also constantly digitalising their resources so there is help and support for older citizens in the community to learn some computer skills and ask for help if needed. It's a small quiet place where people can come to feel comfortable and sit down to read or browse.

The staff are very friendly and helpful and Berkeley holds fun little touches at festive occasions. For example, I was there in February and you could take out a wrapped Valentine Day book as a present for a loved one. Fun!

The staff is fine,but when I checked out movies then gave birth and after that stayed in hospital for days with no one to be able to return them for me because with me yup fine fine fine and kept going.With me always either on time or pay fine here and there and only cutting my fines in half and no mercy. Lucky I give 3 star because i like the staff.

I visited this library as a child, then revised or recently as an adult. While I enjoyed the nostalgia, I must admit that the library did not evolve at all. It's small, and aside from pleasant staff and internet, is pretty resource starved.
