Horrible customer service. Liars and crooked staff. Can't get a vendor permit, but if you are Jamaican you can get one on the spot. We tried to apply for a food vendor permit but was denied but a Jamaican food vendor got one for the same spot selling prepared food like we applied for. Furthermore, they display selective enforcement. These people are nasty and racists. We need good upstanding personnel in positions like this, not cooked creeps like this!

I have mixed feelings about this building department.

The permit clerks are very nice and helpful, the call wait times aren't that long (comparing with other building departments), and overall the customer service is great.

But... the time it takes to get your permit issued is ABSURD! Once it took 6 months to issue a fence permit, but usually they take about 2 months for the simplest fence permits, which is just really frustrating.

I was a little worried due to the negative reviews but our experience today proved it otherwise. We had our passport appointment earlier with a fuzzy toddler but they have been welcoming, patient and helpful despite the embarrassing situation. Thanks to the two ladies who we’re processing our documents. Plus the building is well kept and beautiful ✨

I called rescue for my son who lives in Miramar. I requested for them to take him to Memorial Regional Hospital and they flat out told me "NO" they can only take him to the nearest hospital which is Pembroke/University Dr location....My point is that I'm paying taxes in Miramar yet, they could find their way in Weston last week at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital. I witness Miramar Fire Rescue rushing to the emergency room. How far is that? Some people are just privileged. Shame on you Miramar Fire Rescue..so disappointed!

This is the worst building department. 3 months for a roofing permit. Inspectors don't pickup the phone in the morning to let contractors know what time the inspections will be. No one @ the city will return calls. Unbelievable and unexceptable. Management of the building department needs to be changed.

Just came in to ask a couple of questions about permits and signed in the tablet at the entrance as a courteous employee explained to me. There were a few customers and employees around but I had to wait for about an hour until I approached to the counter, almost at closing time cause nobody offered to help me. The young lady who was there asked me in not so friendly manners that they were about to close and that my name was not registered in the waiting list (!!). Very poor customer service in spite of her answers to my questions.
