Have been a happy customer of Don Tiss Landscaping for about 4 years now. His crew does our weekly yard maintenance (cutting grass, weed whacking, spraying for weeds, leaf blowing, etc.) We also use them for bigger projects throughout the year like tree trimming, landscaping (crushed rock pathway, spreading mulch, planting plants/trees and running irrigation lines). Don is always responsive to phone calls and email, and is happy to come in person and discuss projects and quotes, and has also gone out of his way to get comparison pricing on materials for projects to fit the budget. There are times when he is able to ballpark a quote over the phone, and there are times he prefers to see it in person first. He is experienced and knowledgeable and is happy to give suggestions but above all listens to what the customer wants. I highly recommend!

Great gardener, I have used Don intermittently over the years and he has always done right by me. I've used him to fix my busted sprinklers in my back yard and he did for it a fraction of the price other companies wanted to do it for in the area. Also, every spring, he cleans up the field at one of my rentals and most of the time he calls to remind me so I don't even have to deal with the headache. Plus his sons are his main foreman's, so you know its still a friendly family business with fantastic customer service.

There service sucked and on top of that the secretary customer service skills were terrible. Each time I called to speak with Mr Tiss she never would let me speak with him so no I would never use there service again. Also may I add that before they start doing my yard my grass was perfect no brown spots and when I called to ask what was happening no one would ever return my calls. I would also have to leave notes asking them to teim the bushes and orher miscellaneous things when all of that was included when I spoke to Mr.Tiss!

DO NOT HIRE DON TISS LANDSCAPING
We asked for an estimate and Don Tiss called the tenant of the house to discuss scope of work. Don Tiss then called back with an estimate. He never looked at the work! Don called the tenant to arrange the work since we approved the work. At that time it was discovered that Don did not estimate the scope of work outlined in the phone. Don and the tenant agreed the work would get altered to accommodate but the tenant wanted to meet Don in person to "show" what needs to be done to be certain all on same page. Don and the tenant agreed on 7am Friday. At 6:30 am, the tenants camera alerted someone in back yard. Tenant goes outside to find two workers getting ready to start work. Tennt asked where is the boss? He left they said. He coming back asked the tenant? I don't know he did so he called. The tenant asked Don to return to discuss scope of work Don stressed that he knows what to do. Tenant said we agreed on 7am meet to discuss. He said that he didn't know the tenant was home. The tenant tells him "it's 6:30 am... if course I'm home. Plus we agreed for 7am!. Don got an attitude and said, "sounds like you need to find someone else. I'm come get my guys" and hung up on me!! Would not answer my calls. Very unprofessional. I will never call Don Tiss again... you should not either.

I would not hire Don Tiss Landscape again he doesn’t even do the work he has someone else to do the work very pricey . I replaced wood chips with rocks and i had some mint growing and that stuff grows everywhere and he put the black roll down before the rocks so i wouldn’t get weeds well some mint is still growing and i still get weeds very disappointed the quality of the work is terrable I would never hire him again . Iam also a fire victim from a last years fire in Calimesa and i told Don that and he said he would give me a little discount well he never did way to expensive especially for someone that lost everything in the fire .

This company is really good at small jobs (cutting grass and trimming hedges). But do not hire them for bigger jobs. You will be very disappointed.
