I've lived in Martinez for 25 years and have attended this event just about every year......but in the past few years it has become so sparse!. Last year my husband and I were shocked at how many vendors actually showed up....it was only about 4 blocks long...on one side of the street only.....and nobody down the side streets!......we left and have no interest in returning. We miss when they used to have a huge community sale twice a year.. we don't always want to see antiques only....our new place we've been going to for the past 5 years is the huge Benecia Antiques Faire....lots of stuff....and at least 10 blocks long with side streets..... you'll spend hours there!......don't know what's wrong with Martinez and there faires.....but its really gone downhill!

Main Street Martinez has been there for me every step of the way while I opened my small business in Downtown Martinez. They are well known for the events they put on Downtown and do an amazing job bringing in foot traffic all year round!

I want the city of Martinez to know about a very bad and disappointing experience regarding the Antique Fair today, May 16. I was supposed to sell at the fair and mailed my $100 fee last April. I did not get a confirmation or booth space. I spoke with Leann when I arrived at the fair. She said I cannot sell since I don't have a seller's permit and my fee should have been $120. I asked her why she didn't tell me before. She said that someone called the phone number listed but it was the wrong number. I did not get a call or message from anyone. I told her that my phone # was listed twice on the application. I also sent a self-addressed stamped envelope. She could have sent a note and used the envelope that I included on my application. I asked her for a refund of my money. She said NO REFUNDS. I am not at fault here and she should give me my money back. I spent for the booth fee and gas and have to get up early and load my van for nothing.
