Once again Chris hooked me up with some beautiful gravel for my planter beds. I live in Sacramento and could not for the life of me find any 3/4" crushed gravel in a shade of red. Sure, I could find red lava rock in that size, but the lava texture just didn't mesh with the various other colors of 3/4" crushed gravel in the surrounding planter beds. So I scoured the internet and found ERS. Because their minimum order size was way more than I needed, it made no sense to spend $600 to have a giant bag of gravel delivered to my house. However, the family and I were headed to Palm Springs for Christmas, and would be passing through Visalia on our way home. So I wrote to Chris and asked if I could buy a small quantity of gravel and pick it up on my return trip. He said yes! He encouraged me to stop by the Acton yard to get it. That was too far off the path for me, but Visalia wasn't. While the Visalia yard did not have the color I was looking for, Chris said there was a large bag of 3/4" crushed Mahogany gravel that a customer had ordered and never picked up. He allowed me to take a much as I wanted, for free! Of course I didn't grab enough. Another six months passed and me and the family were headed to Newport Beach for a mini vacation. My wife said "let's get some more gravel." She is so smart. So, I tossed the shovel and some sand bags in the car and texted Chris. He said yes, again! We stopped by the Acton yard this time. The yard worker was a really cool guy. I wish I had gotten his name and given him a tip. He confirmed with Chris and once again I loaded up some bags of gravel. This time I selected some 3/4" Sangria and a few bags of Deep Purple lava rock. They really highlight the deep purple/red of the Emperor One Japanese maple I planted. Chris gave me a sweet price on the deal. Man, I wish I had an acre of landscaping to do just so I could throw some business his way. I am so impressed with ERS. The Acton yard has a really nice selection of beautiful gravel in many colors and sizes. And the employees at ERS are super friendly. What a great company 🙂

I am the program director of California Experience for Girls, a week-long overnight camp program of Experience Camps (experiencecamps.org). ExCamps runs programs for children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or primary caregiver.

I called Chris Gilcrest at Earth Stone Rock to ask if we might be able to purchase large river stones for use as "memory rocks" in our closing ceremony. During this ceremony each camper and volunteer staff member personalizes their stone to honor their person(s) who have died, and tone by one they are stacked upon each other to create a cairn, Once Chris learned about Experience Camps and what we were planning to use the stones for, he graciously offered to donate and deliver the material to Vista, where our camp is located.

The river rocks were lovely and perfect for the purpose. This gesture of Chris, and Earth Stone Rock, was gracious and generous. We are happy to have him as part of our ExCamps circle.

Chris was a great help with my drought friendly project. I found 2 different rocks and D.G. that none of my neighbors were using. He also came out to the project and gave me some ideas on how to improve on the design. I'm really glad I came across his Earth Stone & Rock website.

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid. Ordered 24,000lbs of Baja sunshine and paid over $4k in early November. Got 9k lbs in late December then 15k lbs. of Arizona, which is a totally different and cheaper material, in March. Going to be opening up a dispute with my credit card company. This whole ordeal has been ridiculous.

I wish there is an option to leave 0 star here. I have requested cancellation and refund last week. The company promised to give the refund last Friday and it's already Wednesday. They keep rotating phone calls from one to another. The manager was supposed to call back but have never heard back from her. In the beginning they said they will wire transfer the refund but on Monday they said they would zelle me the refund. It's already Wednesday and I still did not receive my refund yet.
