We had a great experience with Figgins! He came to our house and discussed all the options. We did a combination of what we wanted and what he suggested. You want to work with someone who knows his stuff and Carl has been doing this long enough to know what makes sense and what will look good. When it came to construction, Oscar and crew were amazing. Oscar is incredible with details and takes pride in the work done. And not just what they were doing, but my whole exterior. They helped me replace broken patio lights and added mulch to trees we weren’t addressing. I am a service kind of person. If price is higher but service is great, I’m set. While Figgins is definitely reasonable price wise, the service is the best. Don’t look anywhere else.

Over the past 25 years, Figgins Trees & Turf has constructed massive, multi-level retaining walls at two different houses for me, along with patios, tree plantings, bed walls, and other landscaping projects. They do excellent work and are very reliable.

During construction at my Campton Hills house, an out-of-control road grader flew over Figgins' retaining wall, as the driver baled. The huge machine was left dangling in mid-air, with its blade lodged into the retaining wall. Believe it or not, that wall didn't budge! After the road grader was hauled away, Carl replaced a couple of chipped cap blocks, and it was as if it never happened.

Carl has the education and experience to give very knowledgeable advice on everything landscape related. And, with Carl's son, Steve, a part of the company, I look forward to using the services of Figgins Trees & Turf for many years to come.

Carl and his team were incredibly professional from day one. We built a patio in our backyard and brought many different companies out for quotes and it was clear that Carl and his team stood out above the rest from the initial meeting. And it held true throughout the project. They were constructing the patio around the time we gave birth to our second daughter and they were very cognizant of not being too loud or cutting pavers during her nap times. The project lead Oscar was a huge source of help everyday as he provided daily insights on the project and updating us at every turn. We hired Figgins to provide and plant three trees in a local cemetery. There were a lot of extra hoops they had to jump through to coordinate this not only with the client, but also the caretaker for the cemetery.

They were incredibly patient, provided really great advice whenever we needed it, and provided and planted three beautiful high quality trees. They were courteous to us and to the cemetery itself.

It couldn't have been easy to get into the spots they did to plant those trees without leaving tracks/dirt, etc., on the uneven terrain, but they managed it! The trees are gorgeous, and there's no hint that they were recently planted.

The trees were a memorial for my parents, and my parents specified they wanted Figgins Trees to plant any memorial due to their long-time respect of Carl Figgins' knowledge, work ethic, and reputation for quality. One more, our parents' guided us right, because our experience with Figgins Trees & Turf was excellent, from our initial call asking for advice to visiting the trees in the cemetery.

We were looking for someone to install all the landscaping around our house, mainly garden areas with native Illinois plants. It was a big job, and we wanted to find the right company.

We shopped around quite a bit before settling on Figgins. We've dealt with countless contractors over the past few years, and have learned to judge them based on a few criteria. Are they informative, with a deep knowledge of what you're hiring them to do? Can they point to other projects that were successful? Do they tell you the hard truths about what you CAN'T do? Do they ask good questions? Do they communicate clearly?

After meeting with Carl, I was pretty confident that Figgins was the right choice. We took the plunge, and I'm pleased to say it was the right choice. Communication has been fantastic, and the team working at our house has anticipated pretty much every request and note we've given them. They don't normally grade soil...but they were willing to fix what another contractor failed to accomplish. In the process of installing our sod, our neighbor's lawn was partially damaged, so they repaired that, too.

Generally, every step of the way, Figgins Trees & Turf has exceeded our expectations. I'm very happy to strongly recommend them.
