I'm usually not one to write good reviews, but I believe this warrants it. In the 2 years I've owned my house I've had to get plans twice. The first time cost me $1300 for a structural load bearing beam kitchen remodel (pre-covid) and took almost 4-5 weeks to complete; when I called them back they had rebranded and wanted to charge me $5000 (as a repeat customer) for what I personally believed was a quick job--garage remodel to bedroom--needless to say when I sent them my info for a check to see if they can work with me on a price, I never heard back from them and still haven't gotten a response.
Between my calls to find someone to do plans were several "too small we won't do it" "will take 5-6 weeks" "minimum is $5k" to "out right not being responsive to emails/calls/texts."

I found Final Draft from a rogue FB post I made (because it's difficult to find architects and engineers--google doesn't show many) to a few buy/sell/trade groups asking for recommendations and a user had recommended them. I called and spoke to Gary on the 11th of January while I was semi frantically trying to find someone to do plans because the city always likes to toss you curve balls in your projects last minute, my initial quote was $2400 and what I thought was still slightly high but after a week of trying to find someone else, I got a few that were in the similar price ranges and one that was significantly lower, but after a few texts and messages, they dropped off the face of the earth and only responded after 4 days from my last text--communication in this business is key...if you tell a customer to contact you the next day at the very least respond but they did not so I went back to Gary and after speaking to him in more project details we were able to agree to a more cost efficient price due to them having similar projects on hand.

The best part of this company is their customer service and communication. Gary was absolutely outstanding, replied to emails very quickly and also phone calls during a mist of staff shortages as well. There was very minimal delay in response times...I don't give praise as much as I should but Gary himself warrants 10 stars. He was attentive and listened to what I was trying to do and also gave a few key pointers on other details.

The second best part...when I decided to work with them and signed the contract on the 17th of January, I had plans in my hand signed and sealed by the 20th...I just picked them up today and still need to take them to the city but the fact that I was able to work with them and get plans in less then a week is almost unheard of in the all of the phone calls I made---which in my opinion made the costs well worth it overall. I was quoted a similar price by another person but was told turnaround would be 3-4 weeks.

If I could give this company more stars, I would. When the city tosses you curve balls because they don't want to tell you everything up front and you find out nearly last minute you need signed and sealed plans with no where to go, it puts a huge damper on project timelines especially since the city itself takes so long to get them reviewed and permits approved.

I hope I won't ever have to get plans and drawings again because the process of remodeling is stressful enough but Final Draft alleviated a ton of burden and stress off my shoulders during this part. If I ever do need plans, this organization is and will be on my short list. Please never forget about the customers and how important customer service is. Your company is a gem in a sea of trades that gets a bad rap.

Edited After dropping hard copy plans off at the city for a 130pm appointment--they, of course, tossed another curve at me...we need sign/sealed electronic copies also...I called Gary while I was at city hall, and by the time I got home was electronic signed and sealed in my inbox...I'm not impressed easy but WOW....You don't find this type of service anywhere anymore.
