For Your Gardens' Needs recently helped update and improve our garden and we couldn't be happier! Bret was great about returning calls and emails in a timely manner. He initially took the time to really get to know us and what it was we wanted, even when we weren't in agreement ourselves. His crew was professional and the end product is a peaceful and beautiful garden which we appreciate every day.

I highly recommend Bret for his professionalism, ability to listen, make decisions, and the art he creates in a garden!

I can’t comment on Bret’s end product as I couldn’t get beyond the snobby attitude. I contacted him to redo about 600 square foot. Small, I get it. However, I’m accustomed to contractors that don’t accept small jobs offering a name or two of independent guys. We both live in the small town of fairfax. I’m new to the area and don’t know the names or reputation of any contractors. I just found Bret to be unfriendly and not helpful in telling me all of his colleagues are busy too.

I wouldn't go near this firm. I was told that I could pick the plants for my backyard "re-do;" they were all picked out when we went to the nursery and it was clear that my suggestions were not wanted. I did not like the result; favorites that I was looking forward to were left out, and it seemed clear that my choices were just "not right." I was told that plants that died would be replaced; every time I've tried to get the owner to come to see what has happened, he picks a time I can't meet him and doesn't offer any others. He re-did the sprinkler system and did a good job...except that it doesn't reach the back fence, which is supposed to be covered with vines, that of course will need water. He put shade loving plants like ferns in the sun. He packed the mulch so deep that the acid-loving plants are all suffocating. Need I say more? I so wish I had used another firm, but now I am $7000 into this landscaping.
