Whenever I am in Arizona, I try to stop at the Grand Canyon. Sunrise or sunset is always worth the extra hour out of my way. If you are military veteran, be sure to get a forever pass for national parks. It works here and so many other places!

Such magnificent beauty!! We loved it!! Camped in Mather campground South rim. We bought 2 sites side by side for our family to have the extra space, without bothering anyone. After 2 days, half of our family decided to get a hotel because they couldn't handle the cold at night any longer. Lol
The campground attendant noticed the site was empty, and she came and asked us if the rest of our group was coming back. After telling her the story, she said okay and then left. Less than an hour later she sold it out to a lady in a van with a dog. MIND YOU.... I still had it paid for, for 1 more night!!!! Our kids had to reduce their playing area because they let someone else into our other spot!!!!!! I went down to the tiny check in building to ask why? Or if I would be getting refunded? It was 630 and they were closed. And we ended up leaving at 6am the next morning to get a start on the next part of our vacation road trip. So I couldn't go ask in the morning because they still weren't open!
Going to call them when I get home and might need to update this review depending on how they handle their part!

One of the seven wonders of the world, and that it is, one of the most amazing places on earth to see,. photos don't do it justice. If you are ever on the other side of the canyon check out the watch tower!

Make sure you put this on your bucket list, the views and breathtaking. Have a walk, take it in and finish with a nice traditional American Indian meal. So good, especially in the colder weather.

Do yourselves a favor and go at 545am or not at all. Of all the places to see this park is the most off putting when it comes to the amount of human activity. Still five stars because the NPS and all the hard work that goes into this service provided to us is always amazing and such a quintessential American experience! But yeah traffic sucks and booo people are lame. But stop and get some real fry bread and spend some cash on the Res while you out here!!!
