We've worked with Matt at Inspired Landscapes twice now and both experiences have been outstanding. Our previous house in Sebastopol needed a front yard reboot, and we wanted "like a wild English garden meets Sonoma" situation and man, they really delivered. With only a few pictures from books and the internet they put together a fantastic looking plan and pulled off an amazing transformation of our front yard. Before it was a a scrubby, somewhat sad little patch of weeds, and within a few days (and then several months of growing in), the whole place was transformed. They did French drains and gopher cages and laid a ton of flagstone which looked gorgeous. Really fast, friendly and professional crew. We could not be happier with the results. And honestly when we sold the place I think the yard is what did it -- and the landscape probably paid for itself twice over.

So for our new house in the San Diego area we knew we wanted their help again, and our experience was similarly great. This time we just needed the plans drawn up, but since we're in a more desert-like area we went for something equally wild, but more suited for the environment. They drew up the plans for low water yet very vibrant plants and succulents that bloom throughout the year. The garden is going in now and we couldn't be happier with how things are looking. All around great experience with these guys.

His crew showed up on time every morning and got the job done in a little over a week. They were professional and precise executing exactly to the measurements in the plan. Matt is a hands on owner and involved in our project from conception to completion. He provided weekly inspections on how plants and irrigation system are doing, making adjusting as needed. Matt has strong communication skills and an outstanding team. Bradley and Gerardo worked very hard, are masters in their trade, thoughtful and focused. They always checked in with me, asked me for comments, and are flagstone artists.

In these changing climate times it was great to have an expert, thinking not only about drought tolerant and fire resistant plants but a desire for the yard to be a welcoming place for bees, butterflies and lizards. Our yard is alive and flourishing for the first time in years.

Matt is a genius, creative artist whose canvas is the land. He designed and installed two different landscapes for us — one was about an acre, the other a postage stamp. No matter what the size, his work is absolutely gorgeous.

He uses a variety of native plants that blossom at different times so there’s almost always color. I particularly appreciate his use of creative elements — like stones, bridges, statues — to provide a scenic wonder.

Matt is also a great collaborator and will work with you until you are completely satisfied. And, as an added bonus, he works with a great team who you will actually enjoy having around while they work.
