We just had our walkways refreshed this week by Alex and his crew, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome! The original pathway stones were sinking into the ground and the base was not supported correctly when previously installed. Looks great now thanks to Nickens Landscaping! Awesome work as usual.

We had Nickens Landscaping pour concrete for a patio, sidewalk, sidewalk along our wall, and add an additional length to our driveway. I contacted them and they responded quickly, I got an estimate quickly and the cost was reasonable. Alex and the Nickens Landscaping & Excavating crew were nothing short of miracle workers! And Nic is so delicate and skilled with the excavator....I swear he could pull one tissue out of a Kleenex box. We had an in-ground pool that we needed taken out and a mess of a backyard. We called Alex I am so glad we did, we had no idea what to do with our Mess. He showed up the next day and gave us a quote that was broken down with a lot of options. We had gotten a few quotes from other companies and it was a no brainier who to go with. Alex was very professional, truly cared about our needs and wanted to give us the backyard we wanted. Not only was their quote the best price wise it was the best plan by far for our backyard. The pool was not only removed but all the pipes and concrete were removed to ensure no issues in the future. They took an eyesore problem backyard and gave our backyard a complete reset as requested. What they did was nothing short of giving us our lives back! We are already looking for what Nickens Landscaping & Excavating's next project is going to be for us, and I encourage you to do the same. There is no project to small or too large for them, and I think you will find that not only are they the best at creating your dream yard but they are also the fairest quote and most professional team you will find. We just finished a fantastic project! Thank you, Nickens Landscaping & Excavation!
Our house was built in 1958, and over time the back patio had sunk and was sloping toward the house. The backyard was not draining properly. And, to top it all off, we needed to replace quite a bit of sewer line.
All told, it took a little more than a week. They pulled out the back patio, then they trenched down 9 feet to get to the sewer line. We partnered with Beloman for the sewer work - replacing 36 feet of sewer, including several feet of cast iron piping in our basement.
Then, they filled the trench with about 60 tons of rock, made a new patio and sidewalk, graded the back yard, and installed sod. It is beautiful!
Alex is an exceptional businessman and planner - a wonderful communicator. He worked very closely with me and my plumbers to plan and execute the project. He kept me informed every step of the way.
Nickens has all the best gear for this work - a modern excavator that few companies in our area have - they were able to dig that trench safely and in a tight spot between my house and the pool.

The workers were respectful and hard working, did a great job of clearing many years of growth, and planted some shrubs. We are excited about the clean slate the clearing and mulch provided for our rustic garden beds. We are grateful, plan to use them on a regular basis, and recommend them to you as well. Alex and his crew were AMAZING! They did our drainage, new sidewalk, and landscaping around our entire house earlier this year. I wait a bit before writing reviews to make sure all is good. I will say all is great! Our basement has been flooded twice in the past, with the last one being the heavy rain that flooded most of the Metro East area. Our basement is a finished basement with carpet. So as you can imagine it's a nightmare when it gets flooded.
Alex was very responsive, was very quick to come out to give qoute, started and finished job quickly. The crew always cleaned up after they worked. They don't mess around either, they work non stop with respectable breaks. Alex's brother was always at our house at 7am ready to work.
When we hired them, it was about 3 days before our area was going to get a large amount of rain from the hurricane. Alex made sure to get all the drainage done the day before the weather came in. That is what I call great customer service! Happy to report that with all this rain we have been having this year, we have had no flooding in our basement.
Other companies would have taken much longer then Alex and his team, but he was able to finish everything in a week and a half...that is with me adding jobs to the project! It helps that he has the machinery to get the job done in a timely manner.
We would 100% hire them again for future projects.
