Pacifica Co-op Nursery School holds a special place in my heart, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to share this experience with my daughter. I attended the school myself over 25 years ago as part of their beloved "Bug School" program, and now, my daughter is creating her own sweet memories there. Every time I reflect on my time as a child at PCNS, I cherish those early years—years filled with exploration, learning, and friendships. It's been such a joy to watch my daughter experience the same warmth and care I did, and to see her develop friendships, curiosity, and confidence in the same cozy, familiar environment.

One thing I absolutely love about PCNS is the sense of connection it fosters within our small town. Whenever I mention to someone in the community that my daughter attends, whether it’s at the library, the vet, or even at the grocery store, I’m always greeted with a smile and a personal story about their own experience with the school. It’s clear that PCNS has touched the lives of so many in our town over the years, creating a legacy of fond memories and a true sense of community. This school isn’t just a place for kids; it’s woven into the fabric of our local life, and it’s a joy to be part of that.

However, I think it’s important for prospective families to understand that PCNS is not a traditional daycare or preschool. It’s a very hands-on experience, and parents are expected to be actively involved in their child’s education. From participating in potlucks and volunteering in the classroom to helping with fundraisers, the school requires a significant time commitment from parents. This works best for families who have the ability to dedicate time to these activities—ideally, families with one stay-at-home parent or those who can adjust their schedules to fit in the various duties.

That said, the rewards are truly worth it. The close-knit nature of the school, the personal involvement, and the strong sense of community make PCNS an incredibly special place. It’s more than just a preschool—it’s a space where generations of families have come together to support one another and create lasting memories. I’m so grateful to be able to share this experience with my daughter and continue the tradition of being part of the Pacifica family. If you’re looking for a school that values community, involvement, and fostering real connections, this is the place. Just be prepared for the time commitment, and know that the investment will pay off in so many ways!

We joined Pacifica Co-Op Nursery School in January, 2021, and our son is thriving in their online virtual program. The teachers are amazing, very warm and nurturing. Their introduction to learning is very consistent and engaging. Our 4 year old can sit through an entire 45 min. class with real interest because the teachers have made the curriculum fun and interactive. What I find to be most interesting is how quickly my son has grown to care for the teachers and his classmates - online learning with the class is a weekly highlight. The schools parent community is amazing, kind, and fun. All parents have been very involved and welcoming. The schools playground is adorable and spacious. We look forward to the schools in-person reopening. ❤️

Our two kids (4 and 2) love going there. Currently they view it as a treat to go to school, because they are having fun there. The tree house, playground and swings on the outside and all the toys inside are all big draws for them. All parents have jobs at this school. And we really like that. It gives us additional opportunities to learn about educating kids.

We found this wonderful school during the pandemic and have been participating virtually. Everyone from the wonderful teachers to the amazing board of parents has been so wonderful! The school itself is so lovely with a GREAT playground. My daughter absolutely loves it- and we cannot wait to join in person soon!

My 3.5 year old started preschool here this year after an unexpected move to Pacifica and while we were worried that we may have rushed the decision, we could not be happier. She comes home every day and tells us how much fun she had at school, she is so proud that she's learning her letters and numbers, and it's so great to see her form relationships with the other kids and parents at the school. Also, as new transplants to Pacifica it's a great way to integrate ourselves into the community!

My 4-year old son loves going here. He and his friends like to chat and play in the wonderful tree house, ride tricycles, play in the spacious sand area. There is a lush lawn and charming little garden. Activities, circle time, snack time, art time, water and sensory play, sharing circle, and field trips to Elkus Ranch, Farmer John's Pumpkin Patch, and the Christmas tree farm are great experiences. We love Teachers Bri and Christina, and our newest addition to our school community, Director/Teacher Rose. Organic snacks, pet newts, a piano and other instruments, ample learning materials, dress-up clothes, natural light. Such a delightful little place nestled in a lovely, peaceful neighborhood. A place for families to connect and help each other. I highly recommend visiting and experiencing it for yourself!

It is a welcoming place for all families and cultures; the teachers are creative with the teaching methods and are very special with the children. Besides, the park's structure is perfect for children to enjoy and stimulate their motor skills due to the ample space and the different structures that make it up.
