Moved several years ago from across from the Mahomet Schnucks. Location has 2 entrances off Lake of the Woods road, paved parking lot with lots of space. Wonderful selection of varieties of: flowers, shrubbery, small trees, seeds. Grow locally in Mahomet greenhouses, this family owned business is a gem. Git over thar!

I always get the best flowers and service there, even on hectic, busy days. They need to work out an arrangement with the dog boarding office though, because when I went there, Ropp’s “area” was full, so instead of leaving and going elsewhere, where I wouldn’t get as nice of a selection, I parked in the boarding office parking, since it said that they were closed on Saturday & Sunday. They did have a sign up in their window stating that there was no parking but isn’t Mahomet a neighborly place, where neighbors work together? The owner (I assume), came out and very rudely told me that I was NOT to park in her parking lot again, to which I said that “you’re closed on Saturday & Sunday”. She said something about needing the parking for pick ups. She’s trying to tell me that she’s going to have 8-9 pickups all at the same time?! I’m sure that if she were having a busy day, and Ropp’s had the spaces, they would welcome anyone to park there, because that person might not be a customer now, but they could be down the road. The owner obviously doesn’t know small town living, and I wish Ropp’s a successful 2022 season. The other place…..not so much!

Their selection of plants are at the highest standard. Very knowledgeable staff. This year I only picked up vegetables, but in years past flowers as well. My happy place for plant shopping!

I get excited every time this shop opens up in the spring. They have a broad selection and fair prices. I used to shop at Prairie Gardens a lot, but Ropps is always my first stop, and then I go to Prairie Gardens if Ropps doesn't have what I'm looking for.

Discovered while just driving by, thought I would check out their late season selection. I could tell a lot was available earlier, and look forward to coming back earlier in the year. I give it 4 stars only because even though wandered throughout every row, no one acknowledged I was around!

Overpriced, underwhelming selection of plants. Buy 2 get 1 free advertised was still more expensive than other nurseries. Won’t be returning.
