The property is nestled with a mountain view around and is a stunning backdrop for any special event or just a quiet getaway.

I've been here several times and cannot recommend it enough.

We just went back to visit Sombrilla Springs and love it as we always have! I’ve been an Event Planner for 24 years so when my husband proposed, I knew we had to get married at Sombrilla Springs (June 4, 2022). Sandlin is an amazing host and her team is wonderful! Reading the negative reviews is upsetting. As with a hotel, if you arrive early, your room might not be ready. Cleaning after a working ranch has been “closed” for winter weather is normal and they are constantly maintaining everything on the ranch. It is a ranch – outdoors with critters and mice. Of course there will be cleaning out from that! The weather beats on the glamping tents but they fix anything needed constantly. Our wedding guests loved the tents and PROPERLY used the propane heating units – even turning them off because they got too warm overnight at times. These petty reviews from one group are not reflective of our many experiences at Sombrilla Springs. Our guests still rave about it and have referred their friends and family to host weddings and other events there!

Where do I begin? We came after Memorial Day weekend for a sister's trip and my life will forever be changed. To start the tents were something straight out of a magazine, with layers of incredibly comfortable linen and heaters that kept us so warm we ended up not using them. Waking up to the beautiful horses and deer outside our tent we would walk up to the barn and drink our coffee in amazement over the incredible view (jaw-dropping). THE BARN! I can't even describe the beauty that lies inside, from the velvet chairs to the table that seats a royal family. This barn is dripping with chandeliers and has more comfort than a five-star resort. Sandlin and her team went out of their way to cater to our experience. We had a progressive dinner on top of the mountain, horseback riding, the most magical and healing sunsets. This place has more than I could have imagined. Thank-you Sandlin for providing a safe and healing space for me and my two sisters. By far my favorite place on earth!

We've been lucky enough to vacation at this working ranch a few times and are always eager to go back. Sombrilla Springs is a truly magical outdoor glamping location in the middle of some of Colorado's breathtaking mountains. This idyllic retreat, surrounded by nature's grandeur, offers a unique blend of rustic charm and luxurious comfort, making it a perfect escape for those seeking both adventure and tranquility.

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning scenery. Nestled among towering pines and majestic peaks, the site feels like a hidden paradise. The air is crisp and invigorating, and the views are nothing short of spectacular. Every direction offers a postcard-worthy vista, with rolling hills and verdant meadows creating the perfect picturesque backdrop.

The accommodations are equally impressive. The tents are spacious and beautifully appointed, blending the rugged appeal of camping with the plush comforts of a higher-end hotel. Each tent features cozy beds with luxurious linens, thoughtful furnishings, and personal touches that make you feel right at home. At night, the glow of the lanterns, the sounds of nature, and crackling fire creates an ambiance that's both soothing and enchanting.

One of the many highlights of this location is that it's a working ranch. You'll see ranch animals and wild animals! Bring your binoculars! The barn is a charming focal point, where you can interact with family, friends, and ranch staff. It adds a wonderful, rustic touch to the stay and is a joy for both children and adults. There's something incredibly humbling about starting your days here with a cup of coffee and sunrises that make the light dance across the mountains.

The location also offers a variety of outdoor activities to suit every taste. Whether you're an avid hiker, a fishing enthusiast, or simply enjoy exploring the natural world, there's something for everyone. The hiking trails in the area are well-marked and offer varying levels of difficulty, ensuring that both novice and experienced hikers can enjoy the beauty of the Colorado wilderness. Fishing in the nearby streams/rivers is a peaceful and rewarding experience, with plenty of opportunities to catch local trout.

Evenings at the Sombrilla Springs are pure magic. Gather around the campfire with fellow guests, share stories and roast marshmallows under a canopy of stars - you will not be disappointed. The sense of camaraderie and the connection to nature create a unique atmosphere that's both relaxing and rejuvenating.

This location is a true gem! It combines the best of outdoor adventure with the comforts of luxury accommodations, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Colorado mountains. Whether you're looking for a solo adventure, a family getaway, or a romantic retreat, this site offers a perfect blend of relaxation and excitement. I can't believe I am having to leave this review. I attended a women-only healing retreat memorial day weekend 2024 at this ranch. The location is stunning, it is truly a beautiful place but that is all this has going. Sandlin does not belong in hospitality because she hosted us in a freezing draft barn with a heater that barely turned on, let alone heated a space that isn't insulated. Which is fine if that's your thing but the photos online do NOT portray that at all. It looks like a comfortable, beautiful, resort space and looking back at our accommodations, the word resort is laughable. The barn didn't have water or electricity when we arrived. The tents didn't zip close (there were buckles to secure the opening every foot or so which made it cold, drafty, and made me worried animals could waltz right in. The tents were heated by some rigged up propane heaters with tubing that's most likely not up to code. One of our heaters leaked propane in the night and caused a friend to get up in the night vomiting. I am so lucky she did because I was delusional and unable to move. If she didn't get up to vomit and end up shutting off the heater, I absolutely would have died in my sleep. I left my 2 very young kids and my husband home for a relaxing weekend and absolutely should not have had to worry about dying in my sleep. When we told Sandlin about leaking heaters, she was SO nonchalant about it. Either she was planning on killing people or she was too dense to understand that leaking propane kills people in their sleep! Such a shame that this beautiful land isn't being maintained or honored the way it should. It's beautiful with zero functionality.

This place feels like a movie set. Every direction you look at could be a scene on a western film. From the stunning aspen trees in the far distance, to the rustic barn that held all the events, to the glamping tents we stayed in - this was something incredible. If I ever become a producer in the next life I’m filming a western film here! Big shoutout to the host for making me and the other guests feel welcomed during the wedding we attended recently. The food and hospitality were just as amazing as the views!

I wish I could give 10 stars! This place was amazing! I went on a sister trip here last week and it was magical. The view is breathtaking but what really set it apart was the accommodation and the hospitality from the team. The tents were gorgeous and clean. The bedding was so comfy and warm. Then the “Barn Mansion” (that’s what we called it) is the most beautiful place I’ve ever hung out. It’s decorated like it’s straight from HGTV or something. It’s a great place to take pictures. There are so many fun things to do inside of the barn (pool, shuffleboard, giant connect 4, foosball etc) Then there is the staff. They were so hospitable! If we needed anything they were Johnny on the spot. We went on a progressive dinner with cocktails up on the mountain and then dinner at another big open beautiful space. It was the highlight of the week. HORSES! Don’t get me started on how beautiful and sweet their horses are, and they stay in a pasture right in between the barn and the tent yard. All I can say is that I was sad to have to leave and I will be back as soon as I get the chance.

I have taken my family to Sombria Springs every summer since 2020. It is an amazing way to experience all the elements a Colorado summer has to offer. The guests are all enjoying the great outdoors around fire pits and on hiking trails. The communal barn has a fun vibe with games for the whole family and a great kitchen space. My kids look forward to returning this summer! Thank you for providing a unique opportunity to explore the Upper Blanco Basin.
