Was severely disappointed today picking up.a load of 57 limestone to find a 16% price increase in 1 weeks time. This is price gouging. Other local vendors are maintaining there previous prices within 5 miles of their Ocala location!

This place was exactly what we needed for some projects we are doing for our home. Fill sand is about $17 bucks a yard. (A yard for those of you that don’t know like me lol, is about a standard truck bed filled to the top) Our second order was 2 yards of black Augusta Gravel = $139 per yard. They do deliver, it’s about $39 per delivery but they cannot deliver multiple loads so if you order fill sand and gravel you have to pay for 2 different delivery drops.

I have ordered gravel many times from Southern Aggregate and have always Received exceptional service. The front end loader driver is an expert and loads trailers with precision. Not only that, he's a friendly guy and i look forward seeing him when I get a load of material.

Three reasons for my poor review:
1. I have had my landscape workers purchased about 12,000 pounds of marble chips and rock from them for my flowerbeds over the past 9 months for my rental properties and needed 500 more pounds to finish. They refused to sell anything less that 1000 pounds. Dirt cheap on US 441 will sell ANY quantity.
2. They are more expensive per ton than Dirt Cheap and charge an additional 4% for credit card fees.
3. When I did purchase the 1000 pounds the guy in the tractor spilled the rock on the side and back of my truck and had the rock scratch my paint. I have purchased rock from Dirt Cheap for over 20 years and NEVER once had them spill any rock on my truck before.

If they load you with their "4 yard bucket" is really only 3 yards and their "2 yard bucket" is really only 1.5 yards. There is a manufacturers stamp on it but they will not acknowledge it. Office can't help with the 33% over charge and the owner can't be bothered during business hours. Don't spend your money here!

... Your response is, unfortunately, inaccurate! All buckets loaded into the truck were level. Cubic yards measure volume and the scale on the loader measures weight. Apples to oranges! You charged us for 21 yards and loaded it into a 18 yard dump bed that wasn't even close to full. We weighed the truck full and then empty and netted less than 18 tons. We then filled a 1 cubic yard bulk bag, it weighed 1.12 tons. I'm not guessing that you shorted us, I know you did. I left my info and showed pictures and scale receipts to the employee in your office. I also called and left a message with all my information to the owner to try and resolve the issue. I simply wanted to pay for the material you gave me, nothing more. You could have fixed this!
