From quote to clean up the job went perfectly smooth. Alex was great with communication and Zack was great with the work. Zack and his guys were on time. (we very much appreciated that) They did a great job. Even more than I was expecting for the price we negotiated. I have a 1/2 acre that still needs a lot of attention and Alex will be my tree guy from now on. The cleaned up a huge Oak to include removal of some dangerous limbs. Dropped 3 palms and removed the stumps. I did not expect the stumps to be ground but that was a nice surprise. These guys are true professionals. I asked them to leave us some of the material for my wife's garden. We will make some great compost and fill some low lying areas in the back of the property with it. They stacked it nicely for us.

I have hired many contractors to have jobs done on our homes. We have had some that were great and others not so great. This is the first time had such a bad experience I felt compelled to write a review. We hired Southern Touch at a cost of $29,000 for 7 days of tree removals, tree trimmings, garden plants removed, and some mulching. The crew we had were very hard workers and I have no complaints with them. My complaints are with the owner, Alex. He puts on a great sales pitch about how goes above and beyond and does business making the customer happy but our experience was anything but. A lot of their equipment (stump grinder, boom truck, and a skid steer) broke down and the time lost kept other work from getting done. I was charged extra because he said he had to rent a crane but never got one when doing the job nor did he give any reduction of our cost and pocketed the savings for himself. The equipment leaked hydraulic oil all over the driveway, cracked the cement, broke a lot of the flower garden edging, and had sprinkler pipes tore out. The condition the property was left when the job was finished looks like a war zone. After multiple attempts to have Alex try to rectify them he said that clean up was not part of the job but he could come back if we payed for an extra days work. I showed him photos of a neighbor yard that had a tree and shrubs removed and the yard was cleaned but he said it’s different for one tree than a lot of trees. A lot of lies and excuses. It’s all about the money. He didn’t take ownership for any of these issues and left us having to hire someone to clean the property, try to remove the oil stains, and repair the concrete, edging and pipes. My mistake was trusting and paying him before the problems were resolved. You will never get another job from me. Shame on you Alex!
Added a photo for stump grinding from a contractor (Florida Stump Grinding) that came to grind down stumps that were never ground and just covered with mulch. Had to pay a $1200.00 for them to grind the a lot of stumps below the surface.

I had the pleasure of hiring this company a second time to come out to my property and assist me with a huge oak tree removal which included stump grinding. The staff were experienced, efficient, and hard working. I was impressed with their professionalism and knowledge base. Alex is a great sales person. He will tell you everything you want to hear but nothing of what you need to know. His work crew of individuals are all professional and super nice. When I questioned Alex about how violent the palmetto removal was in my yard his response was, ‘what did you expect we were pulling the root balls up.’ I expected to know that prior to the work being performed. They destroyed my irrigation system, my French drains, my internet/cable, and most concerning to me, my sump pump that moved low standing water in my yard to the lake behind my house. They also broke up the concrete on my driveway in many places. The one thing I asked was there remain a barrier between my house and the neighbors so I could not see their house. Now I can walk straight from my yard into theirs. Beware using Alex—ask more questions than I did and fully understand the situation. He took my max budget and now I’m left with nothing to repair the damage. Shame on you Alex!

HURRICANE CLEANUP CREW: Eli, Zak, and Jason were heros in our hurricane cleanup. We had a very complicated situation with two trees leaning on our house and well and water equipment nearby requiring expert removal. This team had the expertise, equipment, and know-how to get things done without causing additional damage to our house or water system. All three men were courteous, professional, and kind. Their quotes and fees were reasonable and fair. I double checked their quotes with a friend in the business and he agreed.

These guys showed kindness in that they even pitched in to help me with other cleanup I was handling, when they had a free moment. All three guys were there for the job they were hired for, but we're humble with extra help and compassion for our situation.

I can't recommend them enough. Thank you for all your hard work.

Super pleased with the work from Southern Touch. The guys did a great job clearing out the overgrowth and vines at the back of our property. Alex came out promptly to evaluate and talk through with me what we needed and got us on the schedule quickly. The guys worked hard and did a great job and cleaned up along the way. Great work from Alex and his crew! They took out four of our trees before the storm season, including a couple of pines and a fruit-laden jackfruit tree. Very fast all around on communication, quote, and work. They even managed to work around our garden and pineapple plants 🙂
