Biked here based on pictures from Google - and boy was it a let down. It is not at all what the other posts make it seem. Yes the river is there (on the other side of guardrails and a fence) and the river itself offers bridges and scenic views, but this park is basically a well maintained back yard with a few benches. Perfect for what it is, but not a destination to seek out like we did.

Nice little park, with subtle entrance to a striking viewing arena for those who look closely. Do not try to go down that steep hill all at once, you need to make your way on a gentle diagonal. The passive-enjoyment area has 4 benches and enough field space to toss a football casually. There is no playground equipment here.

Very relaxing park. We love to walk our dog around the neighborhood. It's very tiny but nice to walk by or read a book. At night, a bunch of bunnies hang out in the grass and it's very cute to walk by. 🙂

Quiet, small, and frequently entirely empty, Sunken is an interesting place to go if you want to be alone. There's no equipment other than benches and some gardens, but that's fine - the small grassy area could theoretically support a game of frisbee or something if you brought some friends.

This is a quiet little park nestled inside a quiet neighborhood. It’s very well maintained and you don’t typically have a large amount of people who go here. If you want to get away from the larger parks where you’ll run into a bunch of people, this is your spot.

A tiny patch of dry grass and dirt with a park bench and a line of creepy garden gnomes, separated from the Chicago River by a tired chain link fence. The neighborhood is a gorgeously beautiful rose, and Sunken Gardens is the thorn.
