We have had a great experience at Sunnyside Gardens and plan to recommend it to our physicians, therapists, family, and friends.

Since day one, Sunnyside Gardens welcomed us with kindness and compassion. Their entire staff from the executive director to the caregivers, activity leaders, and the kitchen staff - truly everyone - have all been professional, responsive, patient, and compassionate with our family and my mother who suffers from a chronic neurological disease.

The rooms are spacious, and each room has a patio and a private bathroom. Both the food and activities are customized to patients' needs.

We wish to give our highest recommendation to Sunnyside Gardens.

Sunnyside Gardens provided three years of care for my 90+ year old Father; better than I am able to. The staff is kind, competent and professional, many have worked there for a long time. The facilities are well maintained, clean and light filled. I recommend Sunnyside Gardens to provide excellent care when you or a member of your family needs a safe and comfortable place to live.

My mother blossomed in this loving and beautiful environment. Each room has its own garden making this caregiving jewel a special place unlike any other. There are also resplendent sitting areas that are gorgeously maintained gardens, hence the name. Visiting Mom was always a trip into tranquil gardens. Included are lots of activities to engage the residents and invited performers to entertain. The birthday celebrations are generously coordinated by staff and enjoyable for visiting families too. I love that pets are encouraged to visit!! I highly recommend Sunnyside Gardens.

My sister and I looked at a number of options available for our ‘special needs’ sister who after a severe bout of Covid is now wheelchair bound and requires a lot of patience dealing with her frustrations in life. She has always been a challenge but is basically cheerful and enjoys being with people. Sunnyside Gardens has a more boutique approach and is a smaller facility, but her room is large, very nicely appointed and there is access to the outdoors directly via a patio door. She has been very happy there and grateful we were able to find folks who accommodate her sometimes demanding requests. I was particularly pleased to find the Director, Karen Mandair, easy to work with, always willing to find a solution and very accessible. An important factor considering I live in Canada and am not able to visit very frequently. We are hoping to be able to continue to afford Sunnyside Gardens.

We found the best professional memory care environment for our mom at Sunnyside Gardens. Her daily routine was personalized to her special needs with delicious meals and a variety of daily activities allowing her to truly “bloom where she was planted”. The spacious rooms and hallways and the surrounding gardens were clean and attractive and filled with well-trained, patient and friendly personnel. Whether her need was large or small, the staff were always ready to help her with knowledge and respect, with a smile and a cheerful voice.

My brother and I moved our mother to Sunnyside Gardens in January, 2020. For the previous year and a half we had been her caregivers 24/7. Our mom is 95 years old and not ambulatory, but otherwise in good shape except for short term memory loss. We were at first hesitant to move her from her home, but it turns out that Sunnyside Gardens was the best move we could have made. She is participating in the activities at Sunnyside and is eating well. She has become more alert and is much more social than before.

She gets great care there and they keep us informed on any change in her condition, even if they are small changes. Their community director, Karen, has been a great help through every step of the process, from moving our mom in, to her ongoing care, and we've been so grateful to have Karen as a contact. Sunnyside was also very proactive in addressing the Coronavirus threat. Even before official restrictions were put in place Sunnyside was already restricting visitors and monitoring their employees to make sure everyone was healthy, this in turn has kept their residents healthy and given us peace of mind on the well being of our mother.

The facilities at Sunnyside are very nice and the staff is very friendly. When my mother entered Sunnyside she was on hospice care. But after four months at Sunnyside she was removed from the hospice care as her health has gotten better at Sunnyside and she has even gained some weight, which she needed. If you are looking for a nice assisted living facility for a friend or family I would highly recommend you check out Sunnyside Gardens.

We were greeted with a warm welcome and above and beyond service from the Executive Director and staff for our parent's stay of several months. We visited frequently and found our parent surrounded by competent, caring and dedicated staff. We are so thankful as this level of care requires special kinds of people. Thank You Sunnyside Gardens!

Through various family members, we have been associated with Sunnyside Gardens in Sunnyvale since 2016. It is an incredible place for people who need or want companionship, assistance, and/or care around the clock.
The staff is incredible: Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, responsive, caring, and supportive. They keep me informed of any changes to my family member (from rashes to fevers to behavior changes, you name it). I love the staff for who they are and what they do.
The facility is very clean and filled with light. The wide hallways have skylights, each bedroom has a sliding glass door leading to a small patio, and the main dining/activity room has one side that is all glass. There’s also a large patio in the backyard. You can even reserve certain areas (inside and out) for family gatherings.
Activities of all kinds abound. The calendar is filled with events or activities like fitness sessions, games, guided scenic rides around the area, live entertainment, art activities, movies, and more.
Honestly, I couldn’t ask for anything more of a care facility for my family members. Sunnyside Gardens provides everything you could hope for.
