Beware. The owner of this marina is extremely arrogant. rude, and uses unfair business practices. I happen to have a 50’ boat on Irondequoit Bay. Sutters is the only marina on Irondequoit bay that has a pumpout station for waste. The next closest pumpout facility is over 10 miles away. The actual size of the blackwater holding tank on my boat is 80 gallons but I always pumpout at about 50 gallons. I admit that my boats holding tank is larger than about 95% of the boats that visit this marina. The owner (Ryan) of the marina states that since my tank is so large, he has to charge me $40.00 for each pumpout. I reluctantly paid this price for two years. This year I noticed a sign on the dock that reads “ Pumpout - $10.00 per Cycle”. The pumpout station pump runs at timed cycles that last approximately 5 minutes each. Even though I have a larger holding tank, it is still able to be pumped out with one cycle. When I tried to explain that I felt that it was unfair to charge me $40.00 for one cycle just because I have a larger tank, the young female employee was extremely rude and condescending and refused to listen to my reasoning. I will never go to this marina again and do not recommend boaters support a business with these kind of business practices. By the way, I forgot to mention that I have purchased over $2500 in fuel at this marina over the past few years.

I've been docking my boat there for 5 years and counting. Great dock, friendly staff, and a happy boating community overall. Sutter's has continued to put money back into their marina with new docks, jet ski floats, upgraded restrooms, upgraded service pump-out station, as well as a new boat lift to handle all their boat service offerings for summer and winter preparation. I highly recommend checking out this Marina before you put your money anywhere else on the bay. You won't be disappointed!!

I have used Sutter's for the past 5 years to acid wash my boat before winter. I was always very happy with their service. However, the price of acid washing has gone up 55% in since 2017. When I asked about the price increase, I was told by a Sutter's employee that the owner gets together every year with the other marina owners on the bay to set pricing for winterizing services. This is called price fixing and is illegal. On top of the price increases, my boat was damaged this year while it was in Sutter's possession. When I picked my boat up there was a large scratch that was deep enough to require gel coat repair. After a lot of back and forth, Sutter's admitted that the boat was scratched while on their property. They blamed another customer who was picking up their boat. Long story short, they connected me with a third party to repair my boat, I was told that the scratch would be invisible after repair and should last at least 2-3 years. I went to pick up my boat and the scratch is still very visible and looks terrible. When I told the General Manager, Joe Paris about my issues with the repair, he was rude and hung up on me. I am so disappointed in both Al Sutter and his GM.

I went sutters marine on the bay for the 1st time to get gas for the boat and it was a great experience all around for my wife and I. We came up to the dock and somebody actually came out to help us tie up and handed me the nozzle for gas it was quick easy and friendly. The dock is well protected from the wind and has cushioning built into the dock. This will definitely be our place for getting gas and whatever other services we may need. Thanks again for a great experience on the water!

Sutters has been great. I have docked my boat for two years now, and have had a great experience so far. Ryan and his staff are always extremely helpful even if you are not the most experienced boater, they are more than willing to educate. The marina is always clean and maintained. I see no reason to dock anywhere else. Thank you Sutters for all that you do...it is greatly appreciated!

We started boating three years ago and have always docked at Sutter’s. Al, John, Alex and Brian have been extremely helpful during our learning process. Customer service is excellent. Sutter’s invests money back into the marina with new docks (2018); a well maintained facility including deck with grills and updated rest rooms (always clean). We use Sutter’s for winter/summerizing and winter storage. We don’t trailer our boat and haven’t needed to purchase a trailer because Sutter’s has a tri-toon trailer we can use whenever haul out is needed. I highly recommend this marina!

Sutters is the best Marina in Rochester. Ryan and Alex are so knowledgeable and helpful. We are first time boat owners and they have been fantastic.
