Just around the corner from the Douglas Spring Trailhead, the Dog House Saloon is the perfect reward after a long hike in the Rincons. Their porch is a serene setting for sipping an ice cold, crisp and refreshing beer or whatever you please — Desirée makes great cocktails and margaritas. They have fresh popcorn, and if you’re hungry, the Saloon’s food is great (same kitchen as the guest ranch); love them street tacos!

I was vacationing at Tanque Verde with my sister and wasn’t expecting much from this little bar on-site, but the bartender, Isaac, was phenomenal! On my first visit I started with the prickly pear margarita, which was good, but I really enjoyed the subsequent mojitos, margaritas, and mules that were recommended and specially crafted by the bartender. Both he and the bartender-in-training were friendly and good fun. I’d say their service was akin to the cocktails they served up - refreshing with just the right amount of flavor and spice to make for a memorable evening… or two or three. We spent the better part of our last evening at Tanque Verde enjoying the Dog House Saloon’s good company and drinks while snacking on the ever-ready popcorn and playing pool. If you’re in the area, I’d definitely recommend a visit!

Shockingly bad service recently. We were there on Monday and it was closed for no reason. We arrived at 4:15. People were optimistically waiting. I called the front desk and after a moment she giggled that she guessed they were not opening. Today, an overwhelmed and slow bartender took forever to make some drinks. I stood forever, and she started re-serving people (always guys). I finally had to step up. Seriously disappointed in a place I love.

Spent the weekend at Tanque Verde Ranch, and the Dog House was one of the best parts. I want to give a special shout-out to Desire who made incredible drinks and provided some of the best customer service I've experienced. She's a phenomenal bartender.

Always a friendly person to help you pick the perfect drink. Also great atmosphere and the popcorn is awesome. Perfect to go to before dinner to catch up on the day at the ranch before going to dinner. Keep up the good work.

Definitely try the prickly pear margaritas. Bar tenders are super nice and a salty popcorn snack works perfectly on the afternoon porch.

Really great country bar to hang out at with a beautiful patio looking out over Rincons and desert. Loved all the artful drinks the bartender made. And those spicy margaritas...wow!
