As a loyal Marriott Bonvoy customer, this review comes with the hope that St. Regis Longboat Key will improve—because if they do, we wouldn’t mind becoming regulars.

The property itself is beautiful, and the location is fantastic, but that’s where the praise ends. Service is nowhere near the value of what’s charged. Some staffs and even some guests carry a pretentious attitude, making the experience feel anything but welcoming. Funny enough, once they realized we were Ambassador Elite, the sudden “thoughtfulness” kicked in—agendas, guides, and a stream of fake compliments. A real VIP experience, right?

But let’s talk about what really matters—for close to over $2,000 per night, this level of service is unacceptable.
• No 24/7 in-room dining—a basic expectation at this price point.
• Spa is constantly booked, often by non-hotel guests, making it nearly impossible for actual paying guests to enjoy.
• General service is inconsistent and lacks the true luxury touch you’d expect from a St. Regis.

And don’t just take my word for it—a quick look at the reviews on Marriott.com shows similar complaints. If you’re looking for true five-star service, skip this and go to the Ritz-Carlton Sarasota, where you’ll get luxury AND impeccable hospitality at a better price.

St. Regis Longboat Key has potential, but until they fix these glaring issues, it’s simply not worth it.

We assumed this resort was going to be wonderful but we were blown away. We only managed to fit in one night so far and we are already excited to come back. The minute we pulled in the Valet was kind, attentive and offered tips and help. Lake at check in was FANTASTIC! He was so kind, patient and informational. We checked out with Autumn who was just as fantastic. During our spa day Sebastian went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and Jessica at the desk was superb. Our room was stunning, modern, and have every amenity you could have needed. All paired with an Ulta luxury beach resort. There was marine life, a winding river and even a champagne button by the hot tub!

This property is truly breathtaking. The lagoon is like nothing I have ever seen on a hotel property. The food at restaurants was delicious and beautifully prepared. The entire property is well maintained by an amazing staff from engineering (Chris was very knowledgeable about the property and answered our questions about the intriguing lagoon and build out of the property) to housekeeping (Zach and Brandon at the front desk were helpful and gave great recommendations), from lagoon to restaurants, everything was superb. And the SPA!! It is a must do. All of the amenities each have their own unique experience; the cold plunge and snow shower were super cool :). The experience showers and hot tubs were very relaxing. Michelle, Shannon and Erick were so sweet, attentive and super helpful. I can’t wait to go back! This new property is a MUST if you are in the Sarasota area. And only a short drive from Tampa as well.

If you’re looking for a date night or special restaurant this is a wonderful choice. Pianist in the lobby every afternoon & an amazing Jazz band in the lobby on Fridays. Oh & there’s some more experiences here that are one of a kind. Peep them in the pics.

My family had an incredible baby moon at this new resort. Definitely the best hotel we’ve been at in the US. We traveled during a low season and enjoyed how peaceful and quiet the whole resort was. Autumn made our stay comfortable by making sure we had everything we needed. Steven at Riva made breakfast every morning very memorable. Steven gave us great recommendations of things to do. The food and drinks were all exceptional and the prices were appropriate. I’ve traveled a lot with my toddler and have never stayed at a hotel that had so many organized activities planned daily for kids. The spa also exceeded expectations. We look forward to returning someday.

My wife and I recently hosted the guests of our wedding weekend at this beautiful new resort. Our weekend was top-notch the entire time. The restaurants and amenities are five stars all the way. We cannot thank the staff enough for their professionalism and hospitality. It was perfect and we will be visiting again soon!

I just wanted to say that this is a huge improvement from the Colony Beach and Tennis Resort that sadly closed and was left abandoned for years on this site. I believe this resort will be one of the best in Florida for years to come. It’s an absolutely unbelievable property. I like how some of the original elements from the older resort still exist at this resort such as the pier going out to the ocean. It’s a really beautiful property. I hope you all have recovered alright from Hurricane Helene.

Edit: The Monkey Bar looks fabulous. Amazing homage to the original bar.
