The Stone Yard guys were amazing!!! I needed 18 tons of gravel and eight boulders and they they had the best selection of boulders in town at very low prices! Great delivery as well!!! I highly recommend them compared to others I have used in the past. Awesome thanks guys!!!

Buyers Beware. In early November 2023, we purchased 14 ton of rip rap to fill gabion baskets. We received the load promptly, but as we removed the first layer of rock from the pile, we noticed that a large portion of the pile was dirt and small gravel, not rip rap. We had to spend a considerable amount of time digging through dirt to find more rip rap in the pile. We texted photos of the dirt pile to Candy at the Stone Yard and spoke with her about our concerns. We paid for 14 ton of rip rap, but as we went through the pile, almost half the load was not rip rap. She assured us she would make things right, but she needed to talk to the pit where the rock came from. We had to purchase a second load of rip rap in early December because the first one did not contain the 14 ton we needed for our project. When the driver dropped off the second load I showed him the huge pile of dirt left over from the first load and he assured us his load would not have that much dirt. We have reached out to Candy countless times via text and phone over the last 2 months with no resolution - we paid for product that we did not receive. It's concerning that Candy does not stand behind her product or keep her word. She told us she would make things right, but has not. Photos show how much dirt and gravel was under top layer of rip rap and the amount of dirt left after digging out the rip rap, compared to the second load of rock.

The Stone Yard has the BEST selection of landscaping rock - even coloring and not broken! Plus fair prices!
I went to two other businesses in the area for Mexican black river rock/beach pebble and neither compared to the quality at The Stone Yard. Busy little office with lots of contractors coming in who you can tell buy frequently from them, so you know they are the real deal.
The gals in front are the best - the owner and daughter (I think) - and they do not upsell you at all. In fact, I wanted this Mexican black river rock/beach pebble for my whole front yard, taking out all of the yucky pink riprap that I've hated since I bought my house, and they even suggested something less expensive. I was set on this rock though and willing to make the investment. They made it so easy for me to pay in-person and have my landscapers pick up (SVH Landscaping, who I also HIGHLY recommend and are licensed). Their delivery fees are fair though.
10 tons arrived in PERFECT condition - nothing broken and looks EXACTLY like their samples in front. I love gray and their Mexican beach pebbles look amazing with my newly-painted house. 🙂

I hate writing a bad review. However after having multiple loads delivered and having 2 seperate landscape companies tell me the load looked light. I had to call and just inquire. I have only bought from The Stone Yard whenever I needed materials and while I am just a single home and bought a few times, I have been ready to finish my acre and use them.

I have called 4 times in two weeks and zero reply asking about the amount and if it was wrong, just get it handled. I was not angry or upset, just wanted to speak with someone regarding and/or compare the weight ticket.

I understand I may be wrong or may be right however not having 1 call returned has made me feel I was right.

Be careful, even 1 ton off makes more money for them. Lesson learned.

We came across this local family owned business during a landscaping project we just completed. Local first, family owned, knowledgeable, customer service oriented, great pricing, great selection! Candy and her daughter have it ALL at The Stone Yard Phoenix! We were able to walk the yard, search the verity of gravel and boulders available. The process was interesting tagging the boulders for delivery but we figured it out pretty quickly.

Bryan her son who is the owner of Spangler Trucking showed up on delivery day within boulders and a crane and got to business. He’s a polite, knowledgeable, and hard working guy. He was hands on, helping land and adjust the boulders with patience. He was able to help us identify the quantity of gravel needed to complete our job and was onsite early the next day for delivery! We had the gravel delivered the day after boulders and he even came back the following day for another drop as requested with an additional 4tons we requested to beef up the job!

If you are looking for quality, family run, customer service oriented experience for your next landscape project we recommend The Stone Yard and Spangler Trucking they have been around a long time and know how to take CL care of business!

I recently went to The Stone Yard to pick out some boulders for a front landscape project i am doing at my house and had an excellent experience. Candy was very helpful and made the process easy. The day of delivery they were early ( which never happens these days ) and they were very accommodating with my want to try try the boulders in different positions ect. I would highly recommend The Stone Yard.
