Ive managed and installed hundreds of thousands of ft.² of greens and turf from SGS and other supliers. Approx 1 project per day 5 days a week. 7-8 years now.
Currently managing and installing in Tucson.
This location is the biggest liability and most disrespectful group of people ive dealt with in the industry.
My phone order was as follows as per 1000+ projects.
Daytona 60
30 bags of infill
No nails
15x22 putting green
Putting green sand 4 bags
4 cups and flags
Putting green nails.

I drive 45 minutes to pick up.
Get loaded up and drive 45 minutes to job site and drop material.
Putting green gets laid out in sun and the we place in position for install.
As we get to nailing green, crew and I find that instead of putting green finishing nails we get 6” installation nails.
I call store and manager picks up. “ we got wrong nails” I say. He replies “ our install team installs putting greens with these nails all the time”. Me “no possibility exist that a nail with this broad of a head will ever be used in a putting green where the nap is less that 1/4”.
I inform the manager that I didn’t order these nails. Team needs them stat, the project is on it’s 2nd and last day and this is the wrong material. I explain to him my inability to move in his direction to pick up the correct material. I tell him that I can send a currier but he/ she would need to be contracted at a cost of $100 as per industry norm. He begins to loudly and aggressively defend his stance in that there is nothing they can do, are human and can do nothing other than have a box on nails ready at warehouse. I have an install to manage and appointments to honor. I paid $100 to have nails brought in from a darware store. He offered $50.
As we move to the infill for our green, we notice our putting green sand that I specified was not anywhere in pallet.
I called store and manager picks up. I explain that the 4 bags of putting green sand aren’t on the pallet they loaded me with. He once again aggressively defends his position. “ we use 20/40 grit sand on all our putting greens, you just have to work it more, we do it all the time”.
Years of projects and I know this is not true.
He let me know that i specified “ silica”. Yes I did. As his subordinate was taking my order for putting green sand I heard him say “copper slag”, wich comes in 60 grit that will fit in the tigh nap of their putting green. I however specified “ putting green silica please”, wich also comes in 60 grit. This material is carried by all their Phx area locations. I wasn’t informed at the time that this Tucson location doesn’t carry it.
I tell him at time of ordering employee confirms the amount of putting green sand I need and I orderd 2 extra bags.
He continues to tell me that the only infill used on putting greens is standard infill in the larger size.
The veteran installation crew with thousands of projects and ft.² installed, and I labor away to install this infill. We give up. It doesn’t penetrate the putting green.
I call him and tell him I copper slag.
He informed that they have none.
I’m then sure they supplied me with the wrong material because they were out. I’m running round to get project done. Making trips to the marana landfill and no possible way to get to them before closing time.
After too much opposition from SGS I agree to be supplied with a thinner infill that I’ve never used. He agrees to leave it outside of the gate since I wasn’t going to make it before closing.
I wasn’t not able to make it, even getting home at 9pm that night.
Putting green wasn’t finished withing schedule.
Client was upset and crew returned to Phx.
SGS only pushed me away and refused to help.
The cost to drive from Phx to Tucson $150 I fuel.
Cost hire currier to pick up correct infill and deliver from another supplier $150
2 laborers needed and equipment to finish install on 3rd day $400

I lost $800 to pay for their “ human” mistakes and I’m barely getting by.
All they offered me was aggressive blaming, yelling and confirming their superiority and my defeat.

We’ve had their grass for a few years now. It’s holding up great and the install is too!
We’ve done some construction and they have come back out to pull back and then reinstall and did it all for a reasonable price. Highly recommend.

I purchased 600 sq ft of Daytona 80 turf for my DIY installation and it turned out great! They always took the time to answer my questions along the way and have detailed instructions on how to install the turf. They were also the cheapest place I found in town. They have a variety of infills, all the tools needed for rent, and everything else you need for the project. Very pleased with the quality of materials and knowledgeable staff! I saved $2000 doing it myself!

This truly is a home of Premier Synthetic Grass Experts. We received superior customer service with Edgar and Drew. We have 2 big dogs and one giant dog and had concerns about preventing odors on our turf. Drew especially understands and shared his personal experience with his own giant dogs and got us set up with all the right products we needed. Would definitely highly recommend!
