I have been going to Darren at Timber and Lawn for years, My father for decades for his chain saws. Darren laughs at my small electric lawn mower but gladly sharpens the small blades on the spot for me. Always with a shy smile. He appears to be a one man operation. Give him some slack on timing and when he is in the shop. If he has to go out and get parts, he will return. He is a wizard at small engine repair such as lawnmowers and chainsaws! Love this personality and cluttered shop. He knows where everything is! His pups are cuties also.

I went to Timber and Lawn for a small and very important screw for my Stihl chainsaw. The owner, Darren spent at least 15 minutes looking through his spare box to come up with just the right part and then installed rendering my saw safe and ready for service. Then he looked at me and said “two dollars and fifty cents.” It felt like 1960 something, the kind service, a big difference, and a small price!
On the way to the cash register, I found a pair of chainsaw chaps, made the bigger purchase and a great deal on an ounce of prevention, worth far more than a pound of cure!

Great place for firewood! I got a cord of about 90% pine, 10% aspen, cut and split. Most logs seemed seasoned relatively well. The length was variable, but all under 18" - most was 14"-16". Very inexpensive delivery - dropped as a pile - you will need to stack.

The owner is quite a character, but also quite honest. I tried to give him a little more $ than we agreed on as a tip, and he wouldn't take it. He also told me that, once I stacked the wood, if I discovered that I didn't have a full cord, to be sure and let him know.

A few small things to note: Cash is expected for payment for firewood. Owner has landline but no cell phone - at least at this point. Truck used for hauling wood looks like it will fall apart before going around next bend, but it made it up to my house without any issues.

Apparently they are the only game in town for repair work so Tractor Supply has to use them for warranty work. They had my chipper for 3 months supposedly waiting on parts. The crazy part is the owner claimed I had to have run some sort of metal through it to cause the damage, which is completely untrue. I’ve been working in untouched, old growth forest and know for a fact that there has been nothing but wood go through it. He said there’s no way I could know that, basically calling me a liar on multiple occasions. Then he hung up on me and wouldn’t answer his phone. The fact is the chipper is on the cheaper end and started cracking and vibrating after 5 or 6 uses, which is what I was afraid of and why I bought the warranty. Not sure if he tries to void warranties by making stuff up or what but I instructed TSC to pick up my unit and take back to the store where I could pick it up and take to another repair shop in another town myself. I’ve never encountered anyone like this fellow who owned a business, especially in a small town, and treated customers this way. Makes no sense, especially when he gets paid the same either way. Beware.

I asked for two cords of firewood to be delivery to my home in Leadville. when he brought the wood to my home he demanded the money first. so I payed him. He unloaded 1 1/2 coards. Not two! If I could give 0 stars I would he totally took advantage of me I will never buy wood from him again.very bad experience

If you want any help, the phone answered, the door open during business hours, or even customer service. You would be better off using a local restaurant to help you in your endeavor. Born and raised here the old man that used to run it was great!! But don’t even waste your fuel or time. This is why you can’t shop local anymore!!!

Zero stars not one! Bought equipment here was ensured great customer service and got none! Had to hunt down my equipment in junk pile after over two months, not repaired , left out to die on sun. Owner wouldn’t answer phone or return calls. After shutting the garage door and running away, he wouldn’t give me the time of day. Very rude and absolutely no customer service skills!!

Been going to this place for years now. Since about 2003. They almost always have what you need. Huskvarna is what they carry but I've always used that brand. Shop owner is great. Very friendly and down to earth. I still go here to this day to get anything thats tree cutting related. Timber and lawn is the only store of its kind in this small town. Great little store.
