Horrible place to schedule anything and rely on their word. They bailed out on me at the last moment and I had to reschedule my job and bear the expense.

I ordered pavers from them. They charged me a $900 delivery fee to pick up the pavers from the manufacturer. Their flatbed truck broke down before delivering my final load and currently causing a 2 week+ delay to my project. They are unable to provide an ETA on when the truck will get fixed & materials delivered. They are unable to provide a refund or any sort of meaningful compensation (offered 5% off my next order) for the troubles. Through this process, I learned that TriCity Rock gets very few paver orders, so it's no wonder that their truck isn't well maintained and they don't have a good contingency plan. Don't order pavers from them.

Update 6/19: I ended up having my own contractor drive down to San Martin to pick up the remaining loads, and they did return $300 of the $900 delivery fee, which I ended up paying to my contractor. However, they did not give me a time extension on returning the empty pallets for the $35/pallet deposit refund (2 days remaining as of this update). When I pointed out that they were the ones that delayed my project by 2+ weeks, they had the audacity to blame me for "taking forever" (their words, not mine) to decide to have my own contractor pick them up! Further, they said I had to be there in person when my contractor returned the pallets for the refund. It's like they're doing everything they can to make my life difficult and con me out of as much money as possible because it's their "policy".

I have not dealt with a business that has such bad customer service in a long time.

If I could rate zero I would. After calling went down to order 4000sq ft of pavers. The person at the desk could not even give me a price per sq foot said he would have to call monday to get price. Never asked for our number information which pavers I wanted nothen. I asked if he needed my info told me call monday. This was at 4pm. They dont close till 5. I called the paver company they were open till 5 and gave me nother location to place order.

Poor customer service at tri city rock. I drove to union city site one ordered all our base rock, sand and paver, potting soil and top soil. They earned my money. They lost out on a lot of money. I guess the average person walking is not worth their time at try city rock. .

Only place worth visiting if one wants to buy various materials for yard's work. A good selection of ground cover, walkway materials and boulders. Prices are reasonable, but delivery charge for Fremont residents are relatively high.

Terrible experience with customer service, NEVER will my father's small business shop here again. My father's English is not the best but can definitely make himself be understood. Yesterday when he went in to make a purchase he was made fun of almost by the lady who helped him because of his bad English. I would expect better service and professionalism from a place who has alot of business from our Latino community. It's hard to believe instead of going to get someone who spoke the language she basically stood there mocking my father and raising her shoulders like "well I dont understand so too bad!" Disgusting attitude.

If you need bulk rock or soil conditioner for delivery (they have great organic compost too), or if you don't mind bagging yourself, you can save a lot compared to the big box stores. The yard is very clean and you just check in at the front desk, select the product you want (and the bin location) get the number of bags you will fill, borrow their bucket, shovel and tape, and pay when you return the shovel and bucket. The added advantage here is that you can look at the product outside of a bag - for decorative rock (not too many choices), to see what it looks like clean, you may want to bring some water to splash on it before you buy. They also have a good selection of pavers.

Really bad customer service, we were grouting a job - inspector, superintendent and our crew were all ready to go. They sent the wrong product that wouldn't have passed inspection - when we called they said we could refuse the truck but they wouldn't send another truck with the correct material.

Our whole crew lost a day of work on top of the customer service agent being dismissive. We'll never use Tri City again for any of our concrete or masonry needs.
