We recently used Wild Heritage Gardens to replace our grass-and-shrub front yard with low-maintenance pollinator-friendly plants and a patio that doubles as a firebreak (something that’s been top of mind since the Marshall fire). From start to finish Jody and her team were wonderful to work with—they were highly knowledgeable, professional, communicative, and responsive, and took the time to make sure everything was designed and completed to a high standard. This project is something we’d been wanting to do for years, and it came out better than we could have imagined!

We had a lot of different goals for what’s a fairly small front yard with quite a bit of shade: we wanted an attractive design that would reduce water use and maintenance needs, support pollinators throughout the full growing season, create a firebreak near the house, have a nice space for our kids to enjoy, and add some edible plants/berries/herbs if possible. Wild Heritage went above and beyond in delivering on all of these criteria, and it’s a strong testament to their experience, passion, and deep knowledge of landscape design, sustainable planting, water management, and construction.

Our new front yard has quickly become a favorite place for our whole family to spend time, and our kids love running around the path, sitting on the rocks, watching bumblebees and ladybugs, and admiring each new flower that blooms. Our 6-year-old son now asks to go outside with us every night to read on the patio and is beyond excited to pick strawberries, gooseberries, honeyberries, and cherries as the plants grow and mature. And thanks to the high-quality soil, customized drip irrigation system, and detailed instructions Wild Heritage provided, the plants are already growing like crazy just a few short weeks after being planted. We’ve already gotten tons of compliments from our neighbors (both on our street and some that have been driving by), and we can’t wait to see how our garden grows and changes over the coming years. We would highly recommend Wild Heritage Gardens to anyone considering this (or any) kind of landscaping project!

Have been hiring landscapers for HOA’s since ‘82.
Our old ranch house, built 1900/homesteaded 1864, we always did ourselves but as we aged it got away from us becoming an overgrown urban jungle. Jerrica and her Crew came and beautified it in one day. How delightful an experience! Everyone was just a pleasure and although it took multiple trailer loads ~ we got our yards back. I can’t recommend Wild Heritage Gardens enough.

They just finished up after ~6 days of working time. We had our initial visit in December and finished everything in mid-July (they're really backed up, but now I understand why they have so many projects going). We went from a mostly dead grass yard (picture attached) to a yard focused on native, drought tolerant, plants with lots of flowers and tall grasses for pollinators (multiple pictures attached for both sides of the yard), and I'm _really_ looking forward to seeing it all grown in and pretty wild in a few years. Honestly the work went a lot faster and smoother than I expected, everyone that came to the house was really friendly and accommodating, and they handled a lot of things (removing grass, laying down cardboard and dirt, building a couple paths through the yard, planting, setting up irrigation, and laying down mulch). All in all I'm incredibly happy with the care and quality that went into this project.

On top of that, when we were first getting our consultation, Jody (the owner) came by and you could really tell she loves what she does. She also gave us a lot of advice for taking care of trees that we have during the very dry winter we were having.

Would definitely recommend (and have! I have a friend in Longmont who's getting some work planned right now).

Update after two years: The plants that established are doing well! I did end up having some weirdness where about a third didn't do too great, though. Jodi came out the year after they were planted and wasn't really sure why they were stunted or dead, but gave some advice for clearing back mulch periodically and confirmed watering practices. This year I did an audit on the irrigation around the dead spots and the ones that weren't doing too hot - few were missing drip lines all together (including one shrub that looks like it's at least trying, but I'm a bit bummed about while I give it more time to see if it pulls through), others were really far away from their plant (added a picture), and some were just pinched at the emitter. I ended up picking up more plants via Garden in a Box and swapped based on similar sizes/type, so hoping for the best there, plus fixed up the lines that needed it. All in all they handled the difficult parts that I couldn't do, but I did end up doing my own touchups.

We moved to a 5.5 acre property in northwest Arvada about a year ago. Much of the land is foothills scrub and is fine on its own. However, the area around the house was uncared for and full of Russian thistle and sumac. We called it the "ugly hill". The phenomenal Jody Ash and her came out and reimagined and replanted the hill with a variety of pollinator and hummingbird friendly plants, elderberry bushes, cherry shrubs, and buffalo grass. We are amazed at the two day transformation and look forward to watching it grow.

We've had an awesome experience working with Wild Heritage Gardens and Design. They helped us transform bare bones landscaping into a really inviting front garden space with beautiful color everywhere. They really know what they are doing and can envision how everything should come together and then make it happen. You should feel comfortable trusting them with your project. We are so happy with the result as well as the process. They were easy to work with and did just what they said they would do. Crazy talented folks! Can't recommend them highly enough.

We loved working with Wild Heritage. Jody and her team are wonderful. We were also happy to support a woman-owned business.

Jody definitely knows what she’s doing. My advice is to tell her what you’re interested in and then just let her do her thing.

We had many questions along the way and her executive assistant was very helpful and responsive. Her crew was friendly and efficient. The final results are beautiful.

Jody, Jerrica and the Wild Heritage team are great! We have used at least three other landscaping companies during the last 10 year and this company is by far the best. They are professional, reliable, pay attention to details, and have a great eye for design. They are expert at all aspects of gardening and have a deep knowledge of native plants. Our front yard has never looked better and this year we are turning our attention to re-doing our back yard. We highly recommend this company.

Jody made my neglected front yard shine with a variety of colors throughout the summer. Her knowledge of plants makes her designs fresh and interesting. Compliments are coming from the neighbors and people passing by. Highest recommendations for Jody and her hard working crew!
Update: one year later, out front yard is gorgeous. All the thanks goes to these wonderful people, and their devotion to beauty and care.
